My name is Jovita Okeydike from Nigeria (West Africa) living in Bakersfield, C; USA. I am a wife and mother of five children, and I have been a CNA for more than five years. I have many experiences on how to care for patients both the young and the elderly. I acquired my experiences by working in the nursing home, county hospital, (KMC) home health care and private hospital.(Memorial Hospital) Academically, I have finished my prerequisite class for nursing program, hoping to be a registered nurse in the next two to three years by God's grace. I am a christian who believes in human kindness no matter the person, because every one created by God needs love, kindness, and care. I believe that man is not an Island, at some point in life we need others help, care, and love either from relatives or strangers. My family value of honesty and truthfulness cannot be compromised. Until one becomes sick or have love one that is sick or elderly, the person will not appreciate the work of care givers and health workers. Before I became a CNA, I took care of my father at his old age (90 years), the challenges of taking care of him were motivating factors to be a care giver and health worker.

I am a caring person who is very empathetic, and trustworthy. I have experience from taking care of my grandmother before she moved on. I myself have experienced drastic changes and can sympathize who my resident of what's happening. I plan on continuing my nursing career to either LVN or straight into RN.

It's been my passion since my grandmother was sick. I've been a caregiver for 12 years.....I love what I do--you can't do it for the money. You have to be yourself, be professional, honest, and truthful.

I became a caregiver because my aunt was suffering with ovarian cancer and she had no one to take care of her. She lived in Kern City by herself. I took care of her for the last three months of her life. It was very emotional but it was also very uplifting. I helped her move on and it was a very wonderful experience. The personal achievements I am proud of has to do with my background. At the age of 42 I was diagnosed with breast cancer. I had a double mastectomy, chemo and radiation. When a person lives through a diagnoses like this their outlook on life changes. I want to help people now. I want to make life easier on others if I can. Life is precious and tomorrow is not a promise. I've been married for almost 15 years to a high school PE teacher and basketball coach. I have 2 daughters and a son. They are all adults now and live on their own. I put down 24 years experience because I believe as a mother, you are always a caregiver from the moment your children are born. You are always on call, there is always a problem, and you never stop caring. My parents live in Kern City and I help them out as often as they need me. My mother just had a hip replaced so I also took care of her.

I have been a caregiver for more than 14 years and a CNA for 8 years, I have an extensive caregiving and CNA experience in handling a variety of patients with different needs and conditions. I am dedicated to my work. I am a cna/hha graduate and pass cdph exams and an active member. I become a caregiver on 2013, and i love my job and enjoy it. I am experience of taking care of geriartric patients and individual with disabiliities, very dependable, and can travel.

I am reliable, dedicated, and caring. I currently work with mentally disabled kids. I help them with basic living skills like: bathing, brushing their teeth, changing diapers, feeding, etc. I also cook for them and clean up after them. I recently got my Nurssing assistant certificate so I'm looking for a job that will help me add to CNA experience.

I enjoy caring for the sick, disabled and senior communities. I get a sense of reward knowing I provided a patient with respect, privacy, dignity, and excellent patient care. It is my passion to care for those who are unable to care for themselves. One of my personal achievements that I am proud of is I went back to adult school to obtain my High School Diploma. I've never let my CNA license expire in over 22 years and I have had the pleasure of working for one of the best Hospice Agencies in Bakersfield California as a certified Home Health Aide for 8 years. That was a very rewarding job for me.

I am very patient with my clients i love to spend time with them as they were my own family. I am very easy going and respectful i enjoy talking with my patients and spend time together and help them in whatever they need i love this job soo much because i enjoy spending time with my patients and i love when they feel comfortable with me as if i was part of their family.
