My personality is one of great patience and compassion. I can adapt to any given situation easily. My companion skills are such that I can hold a conversation for hours or simply listen knowing this is an important asset to many seniors. Additionally 15 + years of administrative experience allows me to assist with office, paperwork, accounting, communication, etc. when needed. I retired from the office environment and enjoy the satisfaction that Caregiving allows.

What makes me a great caregiver is my sense of compassion and ability to connect with people from all age groups, and walks of life. I'm well rounded, goal oriented, God fearing & I like diverse environments because it gives me an opportunity to grow. I became a caregiver because I enjoy helping people, as it gives me a sense of purpose. I want to be able to touch the lives of many through my work, and use my growing knowledge and experience of caring for others as a stepping stone towards my future goals. One goal I'm proud that I've achieved this year is purchasing my first home. Its only up from here!

I became a caregiver because I love helping others and think that having a job that allows me to do this would be wonderful! The thing that I like best about being a care giver is providing the kind of support and attention to another person that has been so wonderfully provided to my family in times of need. The personal acheivement that makes me proudest is having completed the medical assisting program at Carrignton college and becoming nationaly certified. Something that I can tell you about myself is that I am a very devoted person who will always give my all in whatever I do!

I am a licensed Caregiver and Administrator/ Manager for 18 years and it gave me knowledge and a lot of experience to the aging process, physical limitations, and special needs of the elderly. I developed the importance and techniques of personal care services, including, but not limited to: bathing, grooming, dressing, feeding, toileting, and universal precautions. I protect and respect Residents' rights and personal rights (the rights themselves have been updated for 2015). I am trained on Medication policies and procedures and management / administration. I do encourage Psychosocial needs of the elderly (e.g. recreation, companionship, independence, etc.) With my experience it gave me knowledge in Recognizing the signs and symptoms of dementia in individuals and how to handle difficult Residents/ Patients. I am trained in Building and fire safety and how to appropriately response to emergencies. I also have CPR and First Aid training. I am also trained for Medication Management and Administration , Dementia and Alzheimer's, Diabetes , colostomy Care, Catheter Care, Palliative and Hospice Care.
