I'm a wife & mother of two teenagers, 15 & 17. I've been a caregiver since 2011. I was a nanny for a few families previously. I started working with seniors after my grandma got sick & needed care. I really appreciated the job they did & how well they cared for her. I've always had respect & admiration for older generations! So I went to CNA school & have worked with some amazing families. God has blessed me & I want to be a blessing to people I help take care of.

I became a caregiver because when I was in my early teens my grandmother suffered 2 severe strokes leaving her entire left-side of her body paralyzed. for the first year and a half i volunteered to take care of her bathing her, transferring her in a hoyer lift with the assistance of family members later on in my teen years when i was old enough i took on trainings and volunteered at L & M Hospital in New London, transporting patients. Therefore from me doing the care for my grandmother made me realize how great it would be for me to pursue a career in healthcare. Helping other families like my own. I enjoy making family's feel confident that their loved ones are being taken care of in the best quality of love and care. One of my favorite things I've experienced in being a CNA is when i sit down and talk to my elders. Hearing how they feel and ensuring them that i am someone they can count on. Working in different medical environments, Fast- paced or even slow paced i have always had Elders as well as their family members acknowledging how different i am and how grateful they are to have me. Also the fact that people see the hard work and effort you put in to make people happy, Which is a great feeling being appreciated. A personal achievement that i am proud of is earning my CNA certification. I feel that was one of the greatest things i have done. Currently i am a student at Three Rivers Community College, Continuing my healthcare career journey in changing lives.

I've been a cna for 14 yrs now. I've worked 7 yrs in 2 different nursing homes. I'm all about teamwork, I try my best to make sure my residents are well cared for and safety is also important. My supervisors all love me and know that when I'm on duty, they have nothing to worry about. I do what's expected of me and family members appreciate that. At this point im looking for something a little more laid back like homecare, where i can give my undivided attention to one resident at a time. Id like to add that i do take pride in my work. When I know my residents, family members and my team are happy...I'm happy :)

I am an 18 year old girl who got her CNA license the summer after high school graduation. I wanted to become a caregiver because both my mom and grandma have lung cancer. I take care of them and understand how necessary it is to have help sometimes. I am very patient and cautious, which I believe are two very important traits to have as a caregiver. What I enjoy most about my job is the people I get to meet, whose lives were totally different than what I know, and the satisfaction of helping people who need help
