I have been in the medical field for 13 years. I grew up in a family of Nurses, EMT, Firefighters and seeing them so happy to save someone or just to help is what made me love this career. I enjoy talking to individuals from different cultures or life style while helping them at the same time.

Hi! My name is Kathie. I have been caregiving one way or another most of my life & I believe it is my calling. After my parents passed away ( my best friends), I became a Certified Nursing Assistant & began working in a nursing home, which included all levels of Care, such as Long Term Care, Short Term Care,Rehabilitation, Alzheimers, Independent & Assisted Living. I felt I had something special to offer to those in need of assistance, whether it be with a little help, or alot. I have been on both sides of what families are going through & know how important it is to find the best help possible. I was working as a caregiver liked so much decided this is the career I wanted and now I'm in school and ready to be a CNA!!!

I enjoy taking care of others and helping them with everyday needs. Seeing people smile brings me a lot of happiness. I have worked in nursing homes and on a acute rehab unit at community hospital. I am a very patience and caring person. I treat people as if i was taking care one of my own family members.

I took care of my great grandmother 20 years ago. I meet new people and learn new things that would even benefit me. i took a very difficult case and they were a high risk for bed sores and have managed to not have a bottom break down and carried them through life with respect and dignity. i am very patient. have been in the field a long time. I've seen and learned alot of things. I am proud to say that I enjoy working with the elderly.

I became a caregiver because I love helping people. I like being able to help the elderly live with some independence in their life. One of my achievements was to receive an A in my CNA class. I am a responsible person. I would like to add that I have already had a fingerprinted background check. I am on the Illinois health registry. I have my current CPR as well.

I have patience, and compassion, trustworthy and reliable. What attracted me in being a care giver was when my grandmother went into hospice, I helped with her more than the aids did. I love taking care of other people the way they should be taken care of. The thing I enjoy most about being a care giver is getting to no the patient. I feel like working in a hospital or nursing home you don't get much one on one time with that patient as you would in home health. A personal achievement I am most proud of would be the education level I have. When I was a junior in high school I got my CNA license, a couple years later I got my Home Health care license, then I went to beauty school and got my Cosmetology License, and now I am back in college majoring in Accounting.

I became a caregiver because it fufills my heart, mind , and soul. I get great satisfaction knowing that I can help keep a person safely and comfortably in their home. Meeting new people and their families has given me a lot of knowledge to use for the next job I am fortunate to receive. My years of experience have taught me to have patience and compassion for each person because everybody is different in their own way. I have raised an incredible teenager who is thriving in life. One of the things I am most proud of is that I took care of my mother who was dying of lung cancer. I was the best advocate for her that I could be. I kept her safe and comfortable to live out the last days of her life. I have done a little of everything in the medical field. I have worked in the ER, assisted living, home health and hospice and live in private duty. When I am not working I enjoy reading, camping, and spending time with my family.
