I have been a caregiver for 20 years, I got into this work just trying to help out a friend and I enjoyed it so much that I never stopped doing it! I have found it to be very rewarding, it feels good to be there for others and have the ability to make positive difference in their life. I work well with dementia/Alzheimer's residents, am very familiar with diabetic needs, comfortable with assisting with transfers and mobility (and always do so with safety in mind), experience with catheter and ostomy/stoma, tube feeding, hoyer and sit to stand lifts, and much more. I always try to anticipate the needs of my residents and make sure they are met in a timely manner. I enjoy getting to know them, and doing little things that I know will brighten their day. I truly love what I do and try to do everything I can to help enhance their quality of life and maintain a sense of independence. I am extremely dependable and punctual, have a strong work ethic, carry myself with integrity, and consider myself to have high morals, ethics, and standards. I am able to follow directions, do things the way I'm asked to and not just the way I would like to do them, and strongly believe in doing the job I'm being paid to do. I have received full vaccination for COVID-19.

I am truly passionate about caring for others, whether it's children or seniors or someone with a disability; it means a lot to me to be able to do so. Over the years I have gained exceptional skills to be able to provide families with care for their loved ones. I am honest and dependable and always on time. I started out in this field at a very young age and have built so many relationships during my journey. What attracted me to patient and client care initially was my genuine love for caring for others and the ability to make a difference. I've become experienced in memory care, dementia care, long term care, hospice, youth care, developmentally disabled care, and general patient care which I did through Michigan Medicine. I am now in nursing school to get my RN degree . I believe I will be an amazing nurse from all of my experiences with families like yours.

I became a C.N.A because I had a family member Who was terminally ill and I know how emotionally taxing it was on me and my loved ones to find a caregiver that showed not just the skill set but the compassion that it took to treat my family like there own. So I keep that in mind on every client that I take. I plan to bring i high skill set along with compassion to every person I encounter because they're not just a client to me they're family.

Fast forward to 1990, I knew I wanted to be of help and I made it to CNA school to get Certified! I started w/ Nursing/ Rehab in California and finally moved back to Hawaii to be closer to family. There I started helping out w/ taking care of Family and eventually started working for Agencies. One thing I know w/ having to work both Facilities & Homes, it's both rewarding. Difference is Time & Quality of Care! Facility definitely needing to manage Time/ Quality for each patients. Home Care is best for Patient. Am an easy going compassionate person. Caring for my grandmother towards her end life developed my care giving skills and this was what motivated me to go for nursing program. Caring for the elderly and the mentally challenged individuals. Being able to care for my clients, by helping with their day to day activities. Worked more with the elderlies for my first clinicals.And more importantly am proud of being able to go extra mile to put smiles on some of my patients' faces by going extra mile to address their needs.

I feel that my personality traits that help me be a great caregiver would have to be how understanding I am to my clients, being open, I love helping others out and going above and beyond. What attracted me to be a caregiver was when I was younger my parents were always caregivers, so me being around it so much and seeing how much others (not my parents) would mistreat them .. I know that I could never do that and that I could make a positive change in not only the clients life but in the company. What I enjoy most about being a caregiver is getting to know my clients, spending time with them and making sure they have everything they need. A personal achievement I am proud of is that no one can say I have made a negative Influence on them. Everyone will say how positive I am, how i'm quick at problem solving.
