I grew up watching my mom work with home help, and there was not a client who did not love her. One once said, was to know her was to love her. I tend to think that I took on my mom personality traits. Some of those traits are kind, patient, caring, helpful, loving, outgoing, and charismatic. I used to work in a nursing home, and I absolutely loved it. Just being able to help someone and make them feel comfortable in a place they once did not call home, is so soothing. It's never an easy task for elders to adjust to either assisted living or a nursing home; so with the help of us caregivers, we can make their transition much easier.

I became a caregiver because I enjoy helping others. My favorite thing about caregiving is spending time with clients and getting to know them as well as their family members. My biggest achievement regarding caregiving would be obtaining my CNA license at the age of 16.

Certified Nursing Assistant. I have been in this profession for more than 30 years. Last 20 years staying with Alzheimer patien ts/ Dementia. I do Total medical care to include dressing changes, colostomies, Catheter bags, Blood Pressure, Diabetic check, cooking, cleaning, Dr. appointments and travel. I have had several patients that their families lived out of state and I assisted with the scheduling of staff as well as taking care of my patient. I enjoy my job, love my patients and try to give the best care I can.

I am a dependable and compassionate caregiver. I feel I have many different qualities that have helped me become a better CNA/Caregiver over the last 3 years. I am sympathetic, loving, sincere, considerate and very loving. I lost my son 16 years ago, and I watched how his nurses were so passionate, and provided a level of love that I felt I was only able to give him. Those times helped me understand what I wanted to do for others. I love having the ability to care for someone, giving them a better quality of life, and seeing them happy at a time in their lives that may not be full of joy. Every client that I have been privileged to care for, has become like family to me. I built a relationship, friendship, and admiration by being in their lives.Knowing that I made their day a little easier, building bonds with the client as well as their families. Knowing that they were more than clients to me but some became family. I am a person who feels that it is my duty to help those who can't help themselves no matter the reason. I am deeply dedicated to all that I do. I have been in the profession for almost 10 years and I love it. I have done other things in life but caring for others is what I was meant to do. I am a person who has the ability to empathize and give a higher level of compassion to the individuals that need the services that I provide. I have the ability to see a person past their condition or situation but for the person that they truly are.

I became a caregiver because I enjoy helping those who are unable to do for themselves anymore. It gives me pleasure seeing individual smile when they see someone generally caring for them. when I helped one individual come me independent.
