I became a caregiver because I accidentally took a biomedical technology class in high school and after becoming a CNA to get clinical experience I knew this is where I was meant to be. I like to be there for someone who may not have anyone else. I like building a personal bond with the people I care for. It helps me to understand different views and experience new types of people. I also enjoy the science behind different conditions but that is another story. I am proud that I have excelled in school and honestly I hold my pride in making my mother smile. My sister and my mother are the most important people in my life and I like to see them happy. I have had Obsessive Compulsive Disorder since before I can remember. It poses challenges that normal people never have to deal with. I was told that because of my disorder "healthcare is not my place". I however intend to endure and make it through every challenge my disorder brings along in my pursuits in medicine as well as everyday life. I am very used to being alone and find most peace there. I find that most people my age are very rowdy and I don't care to "party while I'm young" as is often suggested. I like quiet and peace though a one on one conversation and often in smaller groups is always welcome. I find that my calm quiet personality is one that seniors tend to be comfortable with but at the same time silly and energetic enough to chase a toddler around covered in dirt or whatever else.

Hi! My name is Aurora Matthews. I have a wonderful husband and beautiful daughter, and we live in Hudson. I have my Cna license, med aide license, and current CPR and BLS. I am passionate about care giving because I spent much of my childhood helping my mother care for my severly handicapped little brother, so I understand the need for the right kind patient-centered care for your loved one. Since 2012, I have been a licensed nurse aide and have learned so much about the different kinds of care that clients may require and how to quickly adjust my care to meet their needs. I look forward to meeting and getting to know your family member!
