I have been a Certified Nursing Assistant with the State of North Carolina for 9 years. My certification is current. I am also BLS/CPR certified which is also current. I have worked in long term care settings as well as assisted living. I am very passionate about what I do. I love helping people and taking care of them when they can no longer care for themselves. I became a caregiver because when I was young my grandmother had lung cancer really bad she was in and out of the hospital and I always wanted to be the one to take care of her. My name is Amanda, I'm a 27 year old wife and mother of 3. I waited until all of my kids were in school to Persue my dreams of helping anyone in need, I just recently became a Cna and am now on the N.C. nurse aide 1 registry. I've been in and out of nursing homes from the time I was very young and I always loved how patient and loving my family members nurse's were but I also got to see some pretty nasty one's who we're only there for the money so from that point on I knew I wanted to be someone who the patients could count on like family.

This job humbles me daily for him to be so happy in his condition. I have taken up quickly and learnt a lot. That's my proudest accomplishment. One thing about me, very hard worker with the biggest heart you'll ever meet. I put everything into making sure he is taken care of, and happy. I always knew this was the field I was called to be in. I have worked with short-term, long-term, and dementia residents at a nursing home for close to three years. I have had the privilege of caring and meeting many incredible people to whom I have developed close relationships with throughout the years. I have helped many of my residents recover through rough post surgeries, as well be a constant friend when they have needed someone to talk to. I love caring for others and enjoy being a helping aide for those who can't help themselves anymore.
