I have extensive experience (15 years) supporting clients (male & female) with all elements of support (ambulatory, non-ambulatory, dementias and hospice). I'm dependable (never missed a day of work, including 24/7 shifts). I am in excellent health (never smokes, drank or had taken drugs), have a strong back, able to assist with lifting, current on all vaccines and TB test, drug tested, CPR/First Aide certified, no criminal record, clean DMV record and fully insured. I'm a very social person. I enjoy helping and being there for others. I'm caring and take my job seriously when it comes to my clients whether it be the family or the client themselves. I enjoy the outdoors and going for walks and of course listening to my clients talk about what they like. I also enjoy engaging with my clients in games for cognition. I've worked with clients who have Alzheimer's and/or Dementia for over 14 years as a Memory Care Director and caregiver and have enjoyed every moment. I chose to be a caregiver because I wanted to have that one to one time with a client. I've met some wonderful families and clients over the years and enjoy seeing the smiles on their faces when they see their loved ones enjoying life again. The one achievement I am proud of is when I took the first step into becoming a Memory Care Director/Caregiver. My life has only been blessed because of the choice I made.

I've always been one to care for others. My empathetic nature makes its a natural experience. I am a detail oriented person, which I find to be necessary in this field. I became a senior caregiver almost two years ago, prior to that I worked in disability for five years. Many of my friends say that I have a lot of compassion and would have made a great mother. My strengths are the ability to listen, be quiet, enter the persons world I am responsible for. I feel strong about acknowledging people's dignity especially as we age and become dependent. Over the past two years I have worked with approximately two dozen different seniors, all with different needs,and circumstances. What do I like about being a caregiver? Knowing that I am truly adding value to someone's life is one of the most rewarding experiences I can have and I feel very blessed and grateful for each of them. A personal achievement that I am very proud of is that I founded and community magazine while living in Australia that gives a good wholesome reflection of the lives and communities in a rural area. I sold the magazine to an Australian before I returned to the states and the magazine is still going strong! I am a Christian but acknowledge all religions. I am a very open hearted person, and would love to meet with any family who thinks I might be the right person to assist their loved one.

My experience as a caregiver has included private home care, volunteer hospice service, taking care of my own family members, and working professionally in a skilled nursing facility as an occupational therapy assistant. I love helping people reach their goals and accomplish tasks that are meaningful and important to them.

I have been a Certified Nursing Assistant with the State of North Carolina for 9 years. My certification is current. I am also BLS/CPR certified which is also current. I have worked in long term care settings as well as assisted living. I am very passionate about what I do. I love helping people and taking care of them when they can no longer care for themselves.
