Taking care of my grandmother is where my passion for helping others started. I started as a caregiver in 2017 and fell in love. I love that I am able to make my residents life a little easier by assisting with what they can no longer safely do on their own. I typically receive an award almost every other month due to my strong work ethic that I provide to my residents. I am a recent grad from UNCG, and now a current nursing student who truly loves taking care of people. I have been a nanny for many years, as I especially love children.. but I also have a passion for the elderly. I've came across so many situations where elderly people are being mistreated, and it honestly breaks my heart and inspires me to show them love and compassion. I am making it my duty to give proper care to any senior I come across. I have cared for many of my grandparents who have now passed away due to cancer and other health problems. If there is a task that I am unsure of how to properly perform, I will always ask for clear instruction. I have also completed a CNA training course and will be certified on October 13, 2018. I am also CPR certified.

I am able to treat people the way I would want myself or someone in my family to be treated. I believe that I receive so very much more in my position as a caregiver. My heart is so full of gratitude whenever I end my day. Everyday is different and you have to be ready to go with what's happening at that moment in time. I am very flexible and dependable in that respect. I love a challenge and I love helping others that need the help. I think it is important though that you let them know that you are there to help do whatever they need help with, not there to tell them what or how to do it, make suggestions and always remember that they are still thinking, feeling human beings.

I've been a caregiver for 8-10yrs working with clients who has intellectual development disabilities children and adults, Elders and first time mothers who don't have support. I'm from California moved here 7 months ago, I begin my career as a caregiver for my older sister when I was a teenager as my mom got older she wasnt able to care for her like she normally would so I would help out. My sister passed in 2010 and I decided to do this professionally. I enjoy helping others and providing care for people who can't assist themselves or have family to help.

I currently work in an assisted living facility as the lead Medication Technician on the memory care unit. I administer medications, give insulin shots, take vitals, and keep narcotics records up to DHEC standards. I have a lot of experience working with Alzheimer's, dementia, traumatic brain injuries, etc. I'm finding that my work is becoming a bit too stressful with school. I'd love to find a job caring for just one or two elderly adults. I enjoy making crafts, cooking healthy meals, and being outdoors. I love gardening and being and being around animals. I also have experience in the activities department.
