I became a CNA because back in High School I went to various nursing homes and hospitals to volunteer to help the elderly and I enjoyed it. I became a caregiver because it was something I was always interested in and also when my sister got diagnosed with Lupus I saw how much helped she needed and I knew this was what I was supposed to do. I have 12 siblings 11 grandchildren and has always had a desire to help others.I decided to take the certified nursing assistant. training and became certified in 1993.. I have worked with patients with Alzheimer's , in hospice care, elderly. I am honest,flexible, fast learner,dependable and passionate about the care give to the patient and get along great with others .

I became a caregiver because its a rewarding job and I enjoy helping others. Being a caregiver you learn from each patient and you can take that knowledge on to the next. I am personally proud helping a patient who was under weighed gain 25 lbs and he stop being afraid of the outdoors. I would say my patience & my reliability makes me a great caregiver and as well as important personality traits as a caregiver.
