Hello I'm Kate! I'm currently a Sophomore nursing major at Plattsburgh State University. I have a lot of experience working with the elderly from my job at the Teresian House in Albany, NY and from helping my 92 year old grandmother. I'm CPR certified, and am a Certified Feeding Assistant. As a part of my fall semester, I am currently doing clinical rotations in a local nursing home to gain more experience. I will be in home from college Dec 16th- Jan 24th and again May 18th- August 24th. I love working with the elderly population and I am proud to say I am quite good at what I do!

Hello! I started out as a certified nurse aide in the year 1999. I decided to help care for people when helping care for my great grandmother. It felt great to be able to be there for someone in their time of need. I have since cared for so many different types of ailments, diseases and people who need general household help. I've ran errands, did light cleaning, fed, bathed, assisted with walking. Cooked meals, taken them to appointments, also sat as a companion. I've helped others go through hospice care, cancer care, Parkinsons, dementia, alzheimers, sundowners, after surgery care, wound care, broken body parts, stiff body parts...lots of different things. I've been helping the elderly population for 24 years now. I enjoy being there, listening/talking with them, going out to lunch or shopping. Staying in doing puzzles or watching old westerns or just simply being there for them in any way I can. I've spent time with others on holidays as well. It's interesting to spend time with people and hear their life stories of "how it used to be" or to see how town was in the 40's or 50's or back when there was horse & buggy rides to school...enjoy it all. I like to spend my time with my grandbabies also doing crafts or watching my favorite series. Family is everything to me, we all try to be there and help each other as much as we can. I am hard working most people would say I am very dependable. I go to college full-time and work another job full time. I am studying in the field of human service to become a social worker. I am very family orentinted.

For over a decade I have worked in Emergency Medical Services. I love the job and all that comes with it. Healthcare covers such a broad spectrum, but at the end of the day, it is about people who need some kind of help, and people who are able to help. I enjoy being helpful, and I enjoy making an impact in someones life, no matter how big or small. Everything from assisting someones recovery and seeing them walk again, all the way to just being comfortable in peaceful moments. People everywhere need help, and I pride myself on being accountable, dependable, and reliable.
