One of my greatest qualities of becoming a caregiver was to care as if it was one of your family members and having that connection one on one in creating a bond and Trust and just making the other person feel safe and bring good energy and being positive everyday. Just learning about the person I'm caring for knowing them on another level of trust and being a friend and compassionate person that is going to help them willingly and how you could just turn your day around and making them feel good and better and for yourself as well. Being a team player cuz sometimes it doesn't go the way you would want things to go and you could just improvise and make it work and adapt to whatever situation is going on in having the communication at all times to know that I'm providing a good job in my caregiving experience.

I enjoying being a care giver to get to know all my resident to learn somethings from them for the life they have been through all their life and that's a experience for me in the futur. I love working as a caregiver since I was 15 years I always take care of my grandma and helped out with needs just as bathing, cleaning dressing, toileting, making a meals for her and walking around. I BECAME A CAREGIVER, PROFESSIONALLY, AFTER TAKING CARE OF BOTH MY PARENTS , MY DEAR SISTER, AND MY HUSBAND, WHO WERE ALL TERMINALLY ILL AND ON HOSPICE FOR MANY MONTHS EACH. EVEN AS A CHILD I TOOK CARE OF ALL MY DOZENS OF COUSINS AS BABIES, EVERY CHANCE I GOT. CARING FOR OTHERS HAS ALWAYS BEEN MY PASSION IN LIFE. I AM COMPASSIONATE AND CARE FOR OTHERS AS I WOULD WANT MY FAMILY MEMBERS TO BE CARED FOR. QUALITY OF LIFE IS SO IMPORTANT. I would say what makes me a great caregiver is the determination I have to make sure I am fulfilling my clients needs to the best of my ability, while being the companion they need to make their days easier on them and that much better. I was 6 months pregnant when I decided to take caregiving on as my career. I love more than anything being able to help others and just being there for them. If I can turn a bad day for someone into a great day, I'm all for it. If I can be there and am capable of being there to help someone in a time of need, I'm there. I've always been the type of person to put others before myself, it's just who I am. What I enjoy about this job is being able to put smiles on clients faces, the conversations, listening to their stories, and more importantly them knowing I am here for them. An achievement I am proud of for myself would be starting the process of getting my license. It took a long time to get here and it's finally here and I've almost completely accomplished it coming next month. My biggest achievement I am so proud of and grateful for would be becoming the mother of my son Marqus.

I love helping people. I am very compassionate to those I serve. I have been a caregiver for over 30 years. I completed my Nurse Assistant Training in 1989. It takes a special person to be a Caregiver. It is essential to be patient and kind, dependable, knowledgeable and SKILLED. It is also necessary to be creative when issues arrive. CPR and First Aid must be required; I have both the skills and certification. I handle emergencies calmly, efficiently, and professionally. Having a sense of humor is also a plus! I also enjoy learning about my clients ie, where they were born, where they spent their childhood or went to school, their first job, etc. It gives me great joy to be a Caregiver, my true calling! In my spare time, I enjoy hiking, fly fishing, camping, and exploring. I love to read and visit my local county libraries often. I love animals, especially dogs and cats. Growing up in Oregon, I was involved in 4H and FFA and Girl Scouts. I love animals, growing flowers, rock hounding, buying art, attending plays and concerts, and visiting museums.
