I knew I wanted to take care of people when my grandpa was sick when I was in 6th and 7th grade. Visiting him in the nursing home and hospital pushing him around and making him smile was the best feeling ever. I decided to go to Lawrence County Vo-tech for my 11th and 12th grade year to become a CNA and started working my senior year in November 2008. In 2012 I left that job to go to the facility my grandma resided in until she was well enough to go home which was about 2.5 years, and continued to work until I moved in 2016 I currently am working for St. Barnabas now as a hospice aide part time. I recieved an award for employee of the month in August from them. Overall, I enjoy helping care for people, and make them feel good about themselves. A smile of appreciation in return is so rewarding.

I am an outgoing person. I like to make sure my participants are comfortable and happy. I go over and beyond in the work I do. I am reliable, respectful, & would appreciate the same in return. Efficient communication & in task duties. The best part about being a CNA is that I am able to make a difference in someone elses life. I like to joke, dance, play games, and thing that make my client happy and enjoy life. The biggest achievement I have to say is helping my clients improve their heath by paying attention to their needs and making sure their get proper needs met.

I have been in the Healthcare 15+ years. I take great pride in what I do. I recently worked at St. Johns in Mars for 7 years. I love working with the elderly, sick, dementia & all phases pertaining to health field. I have experience with dementia, ventilator patients, alzheimers etc..I get such joy helping & caring for all types of health related illnesses. What makes me a good caregiver is that I have 9 years experience I get along great with people and I have patience. I love the fact that my son sees and knows what I do and said he wants to do the same thing I do when he gets older.

I became a caregiver because I enjoy helping people. While in school I got my CNA an have done that for 10+ years. Currently I'm a stay at home mom to 3 children ages 10, 8 & 6.

I have always wanted to take after my mother being in the nursing career. After my grandmother got sick and after her surgery, I took her into my care and took care of her for a year and a half until she passed away. After doing that I realized that I would love taking care of others. I knew that if I could do it with my grandmother I could do it with anyone. During the time I was taking care of my grandmother I learned how to gain patience, being compassionate with her and others, keeping up with house work, meal preparation, showering, transferring, medication reminders, and toileting. After she passed away I started at Quality Life Services in Apollo PA, doing the same thing. And I couldn't be happier with the career choice I have chosen. I love the work I do and I love the residents that I take care of, I look at them like they are my own family.

One thing that attracted me to being a caregiver is that I absolutely love helping people and making them feel better. Seeing them have a good day helps me have a better day. Some of the traits that I have that help with this job is empathy. Empathy is a huge thing to have as a caregiver. Really, I absolutely love having a bond with my patients/residents. Seeing myself being able to help people and make their lives a little bit easier is what brings me to work. The one big achievement that I'm proud of is that I moved states away from my son to earn my state certifications.

Caregiving is my calling. I treat all of my patients as if they were my family. Going above and beyond for them to keep their dignity and comfort. I have my 2 step TB test, my background check, CPR and CNA licenses, drivers license background check, car insurance and professional references on hand. I became a caregiver after I took care of my grandmother who passed from pancreatic cancer. After watching the nurses and caregivers take care of her, I immediately knew taking care of other peoples loved ones was a passion, not just a job. There are so many things that I enjoy about being a caregiver. Not only do I get to help the patient, but I also get to support their families. It is truly a gratifying career. I have had many personal achievements over the years, but the greatest was making the choice to be a stay at home mom and raising three productive, successful children. As far as my career, when I earned my wings being a flight attendant at the age of 50. It was a dream I had from the time I was a little girl. I became a certified nursing assistant 17 years ago and have loved every minute of it. To me, there is no greater reward then knowing you have made a difference in someone's life. I have worked in many aspects of nursing, but the one I love the best is in-home care because it allows the loved one to stay in their home as long as possible. My most personal achievement is my children who are now 25 and 22 years-old. My second most personal achievement is knowing that I am in the career I was meant to do. I am hard working, very organized, dependable and loyal to my clients.
