I am a proud Caregiver, I love my job, I am Kind, punctual and loving. I love been able to help anyone that needs a compassionate person that understands the difficulties day by day with different types of conditions physically or mentally. I have 7 years of experience as Home health Aide, caregiver and companion.

I became a care giver in 1992 assisting my Mother. Since that time I have enjoyed reaching out to people who are in need of in home care, transportation and companionship; and, assisting with their daily activities of life. In March of 2012, I became my Father's care giver, assisting him in the retirement community where he lived. The retirement community provided assisted living care; and, I was able to learn a lot of skills following their instruction, which enabled me to be of a greater help to my Father. I truly enjoy assisting people and bringing a sense of pride, helping to uplift their spirits while providing support to their daily lives.

What makes me a great caregiver is my passion to provide our elder community with the love care and support they need , and being able to be that number 1 person they rely on brings joy to me knowing that I am able to enrich their lives . I became a caregiver to take care of my own grandfather at home , and seeing how much of a difference I was able to make I started to pursue this as my overall career it is my way of giving back to my community , it takes a person with a special heart to be able to do this line of work . Starting my career off in such a way made me strive for more training and education about our geriatric community , which led me to graduate York County School of Technology with a Health Assistant Certificate , from there my career has taken off in a perfect direction .

I realized that I love helping people when I was only 15. My grandmother was diagnosed with stage 4 bone cancer. I took her to all Dr appointments, sat with her thru her all pain medication treatments. It was hard for me to see her slipping away, but gave me joy to help her keep her independence. Ever since then I have been doing just that, enjoying helping people be able to keep their independence. I strongly believe that people live longer when they feel like they still have a purpose in life. My last patient was believed to just be bull headed, to stubborn to listen to what anybody said, not wanting to even get out of bed most days. After observing her for about a week I realized something wasn't right, I took her to the Drs and found out that her blood sugar was above 500. We went back and fourth to drs, nutritionist, and in just less then a month we had it regulated and below 130. She was outside walking, going to park with my children and I, and truly enjoying life for the first time in a long time

I have been a home health care aide for 10 years. I am certified in medication (cmt) also had training in Alzheimers and dementia. I am very caring and compassionate. Hardworking and take pride in my work. I always go above and beyond in all my work. I am reliable and dependable and I'm here for my patients and their families whenever they need me.
