My name is Lauren and I am 25 years old. I began my caregiving career in 2015 as a Certified Nursing Assistant working for an in-home agency in South Carolina. Hi my name is Tammy and I have lived in this area for 46 years. I am a people person and currently care for people from kindergarten to 90 years old. I love people. I started caregiving between my 8th and 9th grade year of school when my mom got very sick. The caregiving I took on at that age was wound care, personal care, companionship, housekeeping, and cooking so I have been at this for a moment. I have been a 24/7 caregiver or family members and work 24-hour shifts with clients because it's not about me and my needs it's about my clients and their needs in order to get them to a better place in life. I would say now looking back I am proud that my mom is my first client.

I love working with people. I love helping and caring for the elderly. It's like caring for my own grandparents. I love having conversations and play board games with my clients.

I am a great care giver due to my warm and empathetic personality. I am going to be a physical therapist, and I was originally attracted to care giving for the practical experience. I enjoy caregiving for the opportunity to meet and learn from the people who need caregiving and their loved ones. I value my time with my clients and I enjoy making them smile. I'm proud of the fact that my last client was always excited to see me. I'm also proud of my education and practical experience. I have a Master's degree in exercise science, and one of my projects was about developing a motor learning program for people with Alzheimer's. Unfortunately, the program did not take off, but I learned great skills to improve quality of life.

Passionate about quality and caring home care for those in need and desiring to remain in familiar surroundings during their golden years. I am an active semi retired caregiver. It has been said that I can work circles around those half my age. My background is that of a dedicated, hard worker that was taught how to be proficient yet caring in a time when a bedside manner was important. I started out as an aide and was taught and expected to manage in home care that today requires a two + year degree. I currently care for a gentleman during the week, part-time with dementia. After giving a two week notice my start date is flexible but I am available immediately for weekend position. I am an amateur chef. My passion is first and foremost my family. I am interested in genealogy, history, reading, journaling, gardening and non-political current events. I can hold an intelligent conversation and I am an excellent listener. I cared for my mother in home during the last six of her 94 years. She suffered with dementia, diabetes (insulin dependent), arthritis, incontinence and mobility issues. She wanted to spend her last days in her own home for which I am very thankful I was able to be instrumental in granting her wish. I have spent 30+ years, off and on, in the health care industry in positions of nurse aide and home health care aide. I have hospice experience. I value life and respect end of life wishes. I hope that as I age that I will have someone who will show me the same respect, care, empathy and loving commitment to my care as I provide to my patients.

I have four years of home health experience working with different types of patients, performing job duties such as, bathing, assistance with transfers, meal prep, medication reminders, adls, and other patient care skills.

I became a Caregiver because I believe that everyone has a place in this life where they are needed. Age has nothing to do with how important a role you play in shaping someones life. I love to help others to feel as vibrant and apart of the daily norm as possible, to know that no matter what there circumstance they have something to contribute to life. I am proud of the way my Clients respond to the help given and the wisdom they give in return. I am the mother of 3 children, 2 adults and a 18 year old. I am the grandmother of 5 beautiful children who live in Tennessee. I love all sorts of sports, avid reader, and Minister in my church.

I am deeply committed to treating my clients with dignity and respect, my goal is to win their trust and alleviate any embarrassment or anxiety they may feel when needing assistance other personal care. I also excel at planning creative activities customized to resident needs and physical/mental abilities. Examples include pet visits from a nearby animal shelter, game nights, outdoor activities, art and visits with my own service dogs if that is something they would enjoy. It can be challenging at times, but I truly enjoy working with each one of my clients. Though I strive to make a meaningful difference in the lives of the clients, the ongoing lessons I have learned from them have in return made a lasting impact in my life.

I am an outgoing, caring, Christian believer, that has a passion to help others. Since I was in the 8th grade, I took on the role and responsibilities of helping my grandmother who served from a stroke. I enjoy making others happy and just being a listening ear. I am very proud of me joining the military and continuing my education when others said I wouldn't make it.

I would describe my personality very timid until i get to know then I'm like a sunflower. Expertise that help me be a great caregiver are my compassionateness and my love for elderly, and my good listening ear. What attracted me to become a caregiver was the bond that you develop when working with different clients and the great stories they tell about their past!
