Hi my name is Tammy and I have lived in this area for 46 years. I am a people person and currently care for people from kindergarten to 90 years old. I love people. I started caregiving between my 8th and 9th grade year of school when my mom got very sick. The caregiving I took on at that age was wound care, personal care, companionship, housekeeping, and cooking so I have been at this for a moment. I have been a 24/7 caregiver or family members and work 24-hour shifts with clients because it's not about me and my needs it's about my clients and their needs in order to get them to a better place in life. I would say now looking back I am proud that my mom is my first client.

I have 11 years of care giving experience. I have worked in a nursing as a CNA and I have done Home Health Care. I enjoy helping others when they are no longer able to.

It has been said that I can work circles around those half my age. My background is that of a dedicated, hard worker that was taught how to be proficient yet caring in a time when a bedside manner was important. I started out as an aide and was taught and expected to manage in home care that today requires a two + year degree. I currently care for a gentleman during the week, part-time with dementia. After giving a two week notice my start date is flexible but I am available immediately for weekend position. I am an amateur chef. My passion is first and foremost my family. I am interested in genealogy, history, reading, journaling, gardening and non-political current events. I can hold an intelligent conversation and I am an excellent listener. I cared for my mother in home during the last six of her 94 years. She suffered with dementia, diabetes (insulin dependent), arthritis, incontinence and mobility issues. She wanted to spend her last days in her own home for which I am very thankful I was able to be instrumental in granting her wish. I have spent 30+ years, off and on, in the health care industry in positions of nurse aide and home health care aide. I have hospice experience. I value life and respect end of life wishes. I hope that as I age that I will have someone who will show me the same respect, care, empathy and loving commitment to my care as I provide to my patients.
