I have been a caregiver for thirteen years and am very qualified. I enjoy assisting others with there needs and when they can no longer take care of themselves. While I was donig Missionary work in Victoria, Tx., a 23 yr. old homeless man came to us for help. He had many health issues and after taking him to the Dr. in San Antonio, they found out that he had Cancerous tumor in his Brain. He was given 6 months to live and I brought him to San Antonio, Tx. and became his caregiver in our home. He lived 3 yrs. and I had the priviledge of learning how to be a Hospice Caregiver without the pay from man...but God rewarded me with the awesome experience and prepared me for a new career in Caregiving!
I have care for the elderly clients for 20 years by assisting with bathing, dressing, massaging legs and arms,straightening the bed,going on walks and helping with laundry. As a companion I have accompanied clients to doctors appointment, reminding them about medicine and read to them at their request. Sometimes we just chat and reminisce. I have been a caregiver for over 18 years and the reward is unlike no other. To be able to help others in need. I have always enjoyed being a part of others by helping them live to the fullest or leave this life with dignity. My personal achievement has been to fulfill the needs of others, Many people work and worry of about who will care for that special someone. I took care of my mother that's when I knew I wanted to do this next. I like making the elders feel safe and worry free. My personal achievement is that I take care of the elders the way I would take care of my mother .About myself I have lived in San Antonio Texas for 25 years. I have one son and he lives in Austin. He is the love of my life.
