What makes me a good caregiver is going above and beyond to make sure my patient is cared for like family. I became a Caregiver after my mom was diagnosed with cancer in 2000. I wanted my mom to have the best care so I became her personal caregiver. Caregiving is not just a job for me it's a passion, what I enjoy most about it is when my patients know they can rely on me and trust me . At the age of 14 I became a caregiver to my grandfather a POW of WW2. He had PTSD and incurable frostbite damage to his legs. The fondness and love I had from working with my grandfather led me to working for assistant living companies and in-home care for a lovely lady who passed of cancer.
