What makes me a good caregiver is going above and beyond to make sure my patient is cared for like family. I became a Caregiver after my mom was diagnosed with cancer in 2000. I wanted my mom to have the best care so I became her personal caregiver. Caregiving is not just a job for me it's a passion, what I enjoy most about it is when my patients know they can rely on me and trust me . Making the families happy is my goal with each Patient I encounter. When my families are happy and feel like I'm a part of their family it let's me know I'm doing something right.
I have been helping seniors and people with disabilities to remain healthy at home for the last seven years. I specialize in Eldercare, dementia, Alzheimer's and Hospice Care and am now living in the DFW area. I am a PCA and not affiliated with a home health agency but an individual and limited to a small number of clients. I serve a vital function in support of seniors and people with disabilities living independently in their homes, but who need assistance with daily tasks. There is of course frequent person-to-person contact in this job, and I become very important to my client and close to their family. I have worked in Hawaii, Oregon, New Mexico and Texas.

In 1999 I went to school and became a CNA I have been working as one for the last 18years. I love being a CNA the reason being is knowing at the end of the day o have helped someone that could not help they self.Or I have brighten someone day by just talking to them .Just making a difference in some one life means so much to me.
I have 13 years of medical background along with a degree in medical terminology/coding. This has helped me tremendously because in coding you learn not only about the disease but all that goes along with it. In my medical career in hospitals and physician offices I have cared for patients with all types of illnesses from common cold to cancer. I feel I am a very loving caregiver. I take care of my patients as if they were my own family. I have been with all my patients until their time of death so I develop very strong relationships.
