I am a very patient and attentive person. The most rewarding and precious thing we all have is our time and devotion. My goal as a caregiver is to empower as well as, revive a sense of personal independence. Building self esteem and administering a heavy dose of reassurance, are my strong points. I am a Medical Assistant, I have been a Cosmetologist for over twenty years, so I have a great bedside manner. I am a Christian. My grandmother worked in a nursing home when I was a kid and her compassion inspired me. She was a LVN. The connection with my patients is what I like most about caregiving. I am a Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant,(NRCMA) ; and when I complete the program I am in now, I will be an Activity Care Professional, (ACP) and a Certified Nurses Assistant, (CNA); and I am CPR/BLS Certified. Also, have completed Covid19 awareness and safety classes and an additional 25 online courses at Care Academy. I have had both doses of the Covid 19 vaccine.

My name is Cassandra and I have been a medical assistant for about 21 years and a certified nursing assistant for 16 years. I have experience in hospital settings and clinics, from Oncology, Medical Surgical ,PCU and ER.I currently work at Texas Health hospital as a Patient Care Technician on the Medical Surgical unit. The main reason why I wanted to work in the healthcare field was to be able to help others. As a teenager, I was responsible for taking care of my grandparents when they were ill with cancer. I knew then, that was my calling to work with the public or do everything I could to make their lives a little bit happier. One of my personal achievement, was going back to school in my late 30's. My daughters were older( 11 & 16) when I went back to school at the age of 39. I was a little afraid in the beginning but after a few weeks, I was able to manage my time as a wife,mom and student.This summer (2015) I will be graduating with my A.A.of Arts degree from Collin College.When I'm not attending school part-time, I scrapbook and create slideshows for different occasions like family reunion, birthday parties, graduations and baby showers.

I've worked with a 82 year old lady 6 years as a live in caregiver in Metairie, Louisiana she's paralyze from the waist down my duties consist of changing her as need irrigating her blatter medication reminding meal preparations light house cleaning washing and folding clothes dressing her moving her from bed to wheelchair bringing her to doctor's appointments and housing shopping for groceries and household supplies etc ....... I really enjoyed my job but I have to relocate for personal reason that cannot be disclosed I have grown over the years to love her and will truly miss her we will continue to stay in touch I'm 29 years old I have a 10 year old daughter I will attend nursing school in the near future

Very reliable. Empathetic. Punctual. Hardworking. There is nothing more rewarding than knowing that each day, you put a smile on someones face. You helped do for someone what they are unable to do at that time. To me, caregiving is not just a job, it's a calling. And I get satisfaction in knowing that someone can completely rely on me and trust me.

1. I became a CNA helping take care of my great granmother and i feel in love with nursing. 2. I like everything about nursing. I like the fact that you can make a difference just by giving a glass of water to a patient. The fact that pateints or in pain but yet still can say THANK YOU! thats a blessing within its self. 3.
