I have more than 25 yrs experience in being a caregiver, I am not only a parent of 2 grown children, I have been a Licensed Foster Parent, for more than 17 yrs, I have had over 550 children in my home at some point during my foster care time. In 2010 I received the award for Best Foster Parent, with my Agency. I also received one in 2011. It has been a passion with me since I was very young to help others. .

I have been a caregiver for bout 15 years for didn't people I have recently sit and was her private caregiverfor8 years I took her to doctors app , sit with her when she needed me she lived an assisant living I did her clothes when she went to hospital I stayed with her day and nite I love sitting with people no matter what age I love helping people

What makes me a great caregiver, is that I have Empathy and compassion. I have the desire to want to help. I also show the person that I am caring for, that they are genuinely cared for, and that I want to do whatever I can to help them. I have patience and I am understanding. To better understand your client it helps to sometimes put yourself in the other person’s shoes and see what it might be like to ask people for help. It may be hard for them to have to ask strangers to help around with things they were always able to do for themselves, and it may frustrate the client. And when that happens it's always important to never take it personal because they do not mean the harm. I am reliable, when I say I would do something I would do it. I am also trustworthy, I understand that most clients that need assistance are in a vulnerable position, they invite you into their home to be near their vulnerables, and as well as in keeping the clients personal information confidential. Being a caregiver to me means giving someone hope, and showing them love and compassion. It's good to know the feeling of someone appreciating your time and effort, and trusting you to care for them. Building relationships and being able to learn about someone has always excited me. My best achievements were helping special need children/Adults learn to write/Spell their names. I've help to build low self esteem with my clients, and always made sure they knew they had a friend in me.

Hi, my name is Abagail but everyone calls me Abbie for short. I've been care giving for 10 years now and I absolutely love it. The best part of care giving to me is getting to know and interact with the person I'm caring for. I find it remarkable learning about some of the things they have accomplished, seen, or done in their life that their proud of. I've cared for majority of my family threw out the years and I feel i am the best suited caregiver to assist in the needs of your loved one, because I know I want the best when it comes to my family. The best memory or should i say one of the most memorable was when I cared for my great grandmother she was truly an inspiration to me, taught me to paint, and draw, and also to see things and life from all perspectives, to be all I can be but most importantly to be kind and patient. I feel that is what helps me be the best cargiver, when I care for someone and i do these two things. Be kind to the loved one because they cant do all the things they used to for themselfs and it gets discouraging for some at times, an next to be very patient when they are discouraged, let them know I'm there for them in every way possible, to me that is the best and most warmest feeling. knowing i helped them or made their day in some way, thats why I became a caregiver.

The reason I became a caregiver I took care of my grandmother I like being around them they make me smile like like to make their day better for a little while.
