Ive been a CNA for 20 yrs, received my license in North Carolina in 2001 and in Virginia in 2009. I believe the most important thing that makes me a great CNAs is patience and understanding. The reason why I became a CNA is I find joy in the elderly. They are knowledgeable, they make you laugh,and you can learn alot from them. I get great joy in seeing the smiles on their faces because they're pleased with me.

I am currently a CNA at Riverside Doctors Hospital but am looking to get into Home Health Care. I have been a CNA for over 2 years now and love every moment of it. As an empathetic and caring person who has cared for a special needs child, I know what it feels like to want your relative to have the best level of comfort care, and attention possible. I became a care giver because my son was a special needs child. I was personally responsible for grooming him, bathing him, feeding him, soothing him during physiotherapy sessions, administering his medication, taking him to his medical appointments, and making sure he was comfortable.
