My experience is very diverse. For 30 years, I worked in the banking and accounting business and then decided I wanted to work for myself. I bought a house and opened a licensed home child care in 2002. Still do night care for children.
I started doing PCA work after caring for my parents. Doing this work filled a void after my parents died. Taking care of clients and encouraging them to do more than sit around is very rewarding. My mother had cancer and we didn't stop doing until 3 weeks before she died. We made some wonderful memories.
Opening and maintaining my home child care for the past 16 years has been a wonderful achievement. I'm looking forward to transitioning to elder care.
