I'm very much a people person & highly empathetic. I knew I wanted to be a caretaker/Nurse since high school working as a volunteer in local hospital. I come from a family of caretakers so it's in my genetics. I've done many aspects of caregiving from rooming patients in local clinic to skilled unit in nursing facility & Alzheimer's unit. I love geriatric care due to the respect I have for the elderly. They've earned it for surviving through hardships I've only read about & learned in history class, which brings me to the fact that they have the best stories to tell if able to. I take pride in my care & the bigger the challenge it is with not so happy clients/patients I manage to get them to open up a bit & do my best to turn there frown upside down raising there spirits up. I welcome new challenges & learning about something new especially if it helps my care towards my patient. Dementia/Alzheimer's care is my specialty.

I became a CNA in 2011. I had a son with CP and that led me to being a caregiver. I feel it's a very rewarding job and I enjoy working and helping people with there day to day living.

I have been a Caregiver for over 10 years and have a wealth of experience in handling a variety of different cases. I am reliable always arriving on time. I am compassionate in doing my best to help people. I try to make the Residents as comfortable as possible in attending to their individual needs. Families in Minnesota, FYI, just a heads up about the new Home care laws: Think twice before hiring a caregiver without the supervision of a licensed agency in Minnesota. The State of Minnesota requires any unlicensed direct caregivers (including Certified Nursing Assistants) to have a license...please be sure to check that this is in place prior to hiring them. I am seeking employment as a professional caregiver because I want to provide elderlies, infants and just about anyone with the best of care. When my grandmother was sick and was sent to the hospital, because of no health insurance coverage and no Medicaid, she was treated unfairly. I saw how vulnerable she has become. Due to many of the reasons that she weren't very well taken care of, in which has affected her mentally, physically, and emotionally. With this in mind, I took it upon myself to pursue Nursing as my passion and career choice to not only give elderlies or other such patients the best of care but also giving them back their dignity, confidence, independence, along with our welcoming arms and open hearts.

I became a caregiver, because I enjoy taking care of others. I like the pleasant feeling you get when you have done something small and insignificant for a resident, but that simple task has made their day much better. I am a hard-worker, caring, and patient with others. I have experience working with all ages and a variety of physical/mental disabilities. I worked in a day care center for 10yrs. Stayed home raising 3 children. Was a PCA taking care of a teenager with MS and other disabilities for 1yr. In high school I volunteered in the special ed classes helping with schoolwork, range of motion, massages & stretches, communication skills, and assisted with meals. I am CNA qualified and been working in a nursing home for 2yrs.

I became a caregiver because as a young child I cared for my ailing grandma not knowing I was actually being a caregiver, but I was always and still passionate about caring for others that can't unfortunately take care of themselves. The proudest thing I had ever accomplished as a caregiver is getting a woman that never fed herself, she wouldn't even try to do so, I knew she could and I let her know that she could and if she spilled that it was okay. When she began to eat on her own with just a little guidance the whole staff looked at me like what do I have that they didn't. I looked at them like if you show that you truly care clients knows and feel that and they are willing to try, verses feeling like they're being thrown away in a since. I like for my clients not to only know that I truly care about their well being, but also feel it.

I like caring for people because I am helping improve their lives just by helping them with what I would consider basic tasks for me, could be extreme tasks for them. I have much experience in this field and enjoy my work because I am bettering lives.
