I grew up without grandparents. I have seen how the elderly can get mis treated and abused because they are so vulnerable. I love being around older people . I have a passion for taking care of the elderly. I've always been a very active person my whole life and taking care of them warms my heart, keeps me young and on my toes. They have so much knowledge and wisdom about life through there experiences . I currently am a caregiver for a older couple who have been married for 65 years . I've been with them for over 3 years now. I absolutely love them like if they were my own grandparents. And they love me just the same. I always treat my clients as if they were my own family . Because one day I myself am going to need the time and attention that I do give to my clients now. Do the elderly want to be dependent on someone else . Absolutely not and it does affect there emotions. But showing them patience and love and kindness will go along way with them. Being a care giver is one of the most rewarding jobs I have ever had. When your client looks at you and tells you they love you . They're saying it because they truly want to not because they have too. I am also a certified nursing assistant. I also familiar with incontinence and exporting . All ADLs , medication distribution, cooking and cleaning ,bathing dressing and grooming. I can run errands . I can transport to docs appts . I'm also familiar with wound care. And using hoist lifts . I love to make people smile and feel good about themselves and it makes me feel good about myself . My personal traits are being Consistent , and helping others , What attracted me to being a care giver is my family members with disability needs , since a kid I've always had to be apart of helping someone /sick family members with there needs , I enjoy the fact that it's helping someone making sure they are okay and healthy . My personality Traits that help me be a great caregiver are : great communication , love caring for others , patience , reliable & etc. Caring for others and realizing if caregivers don't care for elders and those that aren't able to care for themselves anymore who will made me want to be a caregiver. I enjoy knowing that I can make change in someone's life & help them out . A personal achievement im proud of would be receiving my Medical Assistant certification.

I became a Caregiver in 1989 for my grandfather who had heart disease and emphysema. I do my best to make a individual care plan for each patient. I was blessed with a 23 year old special needs daughter. I am honest and reliable.

I believe once people have overlooked my tattoos, they see what type of heart and love I have for helping people. I've been taking care of people born with intellectual disabilities for almost three years now. I left school like most kids and home schooled to help with my great grandmother and I loved seeing her being took care of properly.

When I was a little girl I had to help with my grandfather. He was in a wheelchair so he needed help with different things. I cooked, cleaned, help give him his pills, and even checked his sugar. Helping take care of my grandfather as I got older really made me feel like I can help other people. I would love to help others just like I did my grandfather. I feel like I would be a wonderful caregiver.
