I am personable and enjoy being a home care provider. I became a caregiver because I wanted to help others by assisting them with their activities of daily living. I enjoyed caring for many seniors over the years and learned quite a lot from them. I believe I'm a great caregiver because I have had extensive training in a skilled nursing facility as well as in many private homes. I also enjoy seeing the difference that I often make in people's lives. I became a nursing assistant back in 1982 and acquired my Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license at the convalescent hospital where I worked. I then went on to work for several home care agencies and acquired my Certified Home HeaIth Aide (CHHA) license. I have worked as an independent contractor caregiver for years. I am willing to commute for full-time employment. I have great references and will be happy to submit them upon request.

Love working with elderly people giving my time to helping others get the best quality of life. Working with the elderly is like walking through a chapter in history. I wanted to make a difference in elderly lives.

What made me want to become a caregiver was one of my own aunts got stage 4 cancer and I then put myself in trade school for CNA so I could learn how to care for her . Everyone has a story. I like helping people and found working as a 'Home Care Aid' very fulfilling. Several years ago, my first client was a woman in hospice and I filled in so the family could get some rest. As I sat beside the lady, I looked around the room and saw pictures of her as a young woman on her wedding day, as a young mother and later as a grandmother. Her cook book was there with all kinds of personal notes etc. and just think I was so lucky to have been able to be there with her for that short time. Most of my clients I have been able to help with errands, transportation, meals, assisting with bathing and companionship. I value the time I have spent with the new friends I have made - short term and long term.
