I think I was born to be a caregiver. I started out running my own daycare out of my home. When my parents were elderly I took care of them. I took in foster children and also did Options for recovery and took in new borns that were exposed to drugs due to their parents addiction. I've had many caregiver jobs plus worked with mentally disabled adults. I'm very compassionate and treat my clients as family. People say I have a calming way when it comes dementia and Alzheimer's clients. I love my work wholeheartedly. My mom always told me find a job that you love and you'll never work a day in your life !

I am a retired Caregiver with over 35 years of experience. I acquired my experience by working in Hospitals, Home Care Agencies, as a Private Caregiver and Caregiving for family members. My Mother steered me in this direction when I was around 8 years old, by having me help her older friend that was just discharged from the hospital & Caregiving has been my calling since. As we age and live by ourselves, it's not as easy to take care of ourselves & we may need some helping hands, that are trustworthy, to remain in our home. I have a nurturing personality and find much satisfaction helping someone continue to remain in their home.

I am patient, a good listener and enjoy working closely with others - especially older people. I have many personal experience taking care of the elderly & loved every second of it. Being able to help those is need is the only thing I want to do. Checking on your senior loved one's health is an important caregiver responsibility that I can fulfill with no hesitation. I have over a year experience in this field. At the age of 17, before turning 18 my grandmother was diagnosed with cancer and shortly placed on hospice. While being placed on hospice, I was the only one who took care of her, with this came along providing care for her 24/7. Not only was she on hospice but she was also diagnosed with dementia which stopped her from doing her daily needs. I would provide assistance with cooking, cleaning & giving medication as prescribed until she passed. In 2021, I was a home care provider assisting my mother who worked for IHSS. Took turns giving care for my aunt who is mentally disabled. She is 49 with the mindset of a 2 year old. 24 hour care is needed to help support her daily needs. Tasks included changing diaper, feeding her, give medication as prescribed & taking her out for her daily exercise which included morning walks.

Nurturing and motherly traits have always come naturally to me. I am a mother of 3 but have been caring for my siblings as well as neighborhood children since I was a young girl. I have officially been in healthcare for just about 6 years but have been immersed in the care of family members before it was even my job title. I found through the care of my mom during her hospice stay, that caring for others during life changing events is my passion. I take pride in my work and the help I offer to those in need. It's important for me to mirror qualities of not just hard work and determination but compassion, empithy, and times of being selfless to mold my children into well rounded kind little people. My favorite part of my work is celebrating all the victories with my patients, no matter how small it may seem to them.
