I've spent the last 15 + years caring for my teenagers, their friends and their schools. if there was a place to help out I was usually there, and often stayed for years. my work experience is mostly in office administration, but this is not what I want to return to. I studied to be a drug and alcohol counselor, but would like to be able to help others as well, so I am looking into caregiver work. I would like to do something meaningful, and that I enjoy. I am a quick learner, and always up for a challenge. I have a ton of patience that I have developed over the years. I love learning new things, and I love helping people. I am energetic and very social. What attracted me to be a caregiver was seeing my kind hearted mom help the elderly as a CNA. She does it with so much joy and that has inspired me. I'm a very kind personality and down to earth, have soft voices and loving person, I'started taking care my parent for 10 yrs around 2000 until they both passed in2010 then i decided to reach out to other elderly and families who need help with their parents and loved one.

I am from the island so I grew up caring for my grandparents and younger siblings. So it's what I have been doing and use to doing now that I am an adult I do still help to care for my parents grandparents and also my own kids it's in me I do have patience and I love caring for anyone that needs the help just makes me feel good knowing they need my help. I started working caregiver when my mom and aunties would need a reliver someone to cover for there private caregiver jobs so I would fill in for hours or a day or even live in for few days as we all know it's a hard thing to do dedicating ur time and help when u have ur own families so it does take a village like they say u can't do it alone. Than I got my own private caregiver job I started working only weekends live this client had a colostomy bag also dementia and Alzheimer's so she really need the care around the clock I would help with her meals medication reminders also driving her to appointments and doing groceries for her and light house keeping I worked for this one client for 14 years straight it went from only weekends adding the week nights to the whole 24 hour 7 days a week. I would get my mom and cousins to relieve me when I would go on vacation or have time off but I was the main caregiver. I do still keep in contact with the family for reference cause it's hard to find private caregiver jobs.

Hello. I have been a caregiver in Oakmont, an adult community in Santa Rosa since June 2015. I have worked with clients who suffered strokes, falls, dementia, cancer, back surgeries and just about everything in between. Any one of these families would happily give me an excellent reference-- so please do check my references. Prior to Oakmont, I worked for different hospices in Walnut Creek and San Luis Obispo while raising my family. I genuinely enjoy working with clients in their final stages of life. They have taught me so much about how to live fully despite the inevitable limitations of aging. Some days are better than others for all of us. On the tougher days, I try to keep everyone focused on appreciating the here and now. I also like to keep clients active both physically and mentally, if possible. I enjoy preparing meals loaded with fresh fruits and greens and I make a mean stew too.

I am very passionate about being caregiver and I have good patience. I enjoy helping out clients who don't have the extra help they need. A personal achievement would be me going to school to become a medical assistant and graduating .
