I enjoy helping people especially those who just want to feel normal and be able to assist with them functioning on their own. I started with caregiving about 5-6 years ago with my grandmother who had a stroke. I've worked with both the elderly and mentally disabled.

When I was young I help my mother run her daycare and one day the opportunity came for me to do more and I became a caregiver at 19. I don't think I could have found anything else that I would have enjoyed as much. During the recent pandemic I felt that there was and still is s need for this type of work . I really just want to make a difference and help someone that needs it. I find this truly rewarding. I now have a family of my own and have a desire to work part time serving in this capacity. My desire is to provide one on one companionship, meal prep, grocery shopping, doctor visits, etc. I am looking to work mornings while my kids are in school. I have also completed an online course, Foundations for Assisting in Home Care.

My personality positive attitude, very welcoming and understanding. I have a disabled brother and I care for him so I put a little extra care in as if they are my family. I enjoy getting to know the family and the person and become apart of their circle . I have achieved so much thus far I'm a CPT,Medical assistant, HHA, and still pursuing a nursing degree.

I believe that I'm a great caregiver because I'm very compassionate, confident, and dependable. I've been able to establish trust and emote genuine patient caring. I became a caregiver after my mother became very ill, my sister and I stepped in and became her caregiver. Afterwards, I decided I wanted to go further and became a Home Health Aide @ covenant Hospice, where I've been working for the past 8 years. I love the work that I do and I have a heart for the people.

What I enjoy most about being a caregiver is that I enjoy helping people. I enjoy sitting and listening to people who enjoy sharing their stories with me when they were younger, or just talking about life in general. As a child I always knew that helping people was what God created me to do and I believe that everyday as I go about my day I see that this my true calling, and I believe that this is what I am suppose to do. I interact with patients all the time when they come into their appointments and there is never a dull moment. They share, and I listen because some have no one to talk to and I believe that me being that person that can talk to not only help them but also helps me to become a great listener and they thank me for that. I am very dependable and very realiable and I am vey compassionate about my work and my job. I am a very positive person and I truly believe that is what make my job easier to do because I love helping people and bring a smile to their faces.
