I have ben a caregiver for 30 years i love it im a cna and its one of best the best things i have ever decided to do.

I'm attracted to being a caregiver because I used to work in a nursing home as a cook an dietary aide, and seen some of them nurses mistreating the residents an it hurt because that could be anyone of my family member some day. So I wanted to make a difference in people's lives, I love people an listening to their story of life. Happiness, opportunity to grow an learn new things as well as making a long lasting companionship with the person I may be caring for is what I enjoy the most about being a caregiver. Personally completing my GED after being told I would never amount to anything, is one of my most proud personal achievements, besides become a father and raising my children the right way. I am a very genuine nice person, I get along with everyone. I grew up with my mom taking care of our uncle in the house, he had been in a bad accident as a child that left him with brain injuries, I helped her with him and wanted to be a doctor, my friend referred me to her job as a caregiver and I fell in love with it.

I recently just graduated as a psychology and sociology major. I love to learn who to people and interact with people. I spend most of my college learning about people's needs, what people require both psychically emotionally mentally and somewhat spiritually. I work with people daily who are struggling w mobility, safety awareness, and their independce with ADL tasks. I am involved in up to 12 peoples daily care and enjoy helping others .

I am 27 years old. I have been in the health care field since I was 18. I have a significant amount of patient care experience, not only in the hospital setting but in home health care as well. I am very passionate about what I do, and I strive tremendously on helping other people. I am very dependable, trustworthy, and reliable with an incredible worth ethic. I always go above and beyond when making sure each patient gets the care they need and deserve.

I've been involved in healthcare for about 2 years now and I am going to college for nursing. I enjoy everything about my job and love working with my patients. Their care and safety mean everything to me.

I been working in the nursing field for 6 yrs and counting .Just finished my CNA classes to get certified.I plan on to continue my education in this field to become a physical therapy nurse.

It all Started when I was very young, I was 5 and Started To realize my mom's balance wasnt like the other kids mom's. It was just my mom and I, so I instinctively helped her as much as a 5 year old could. As I got older she got worse, and I could help more. That's exactly what I did. She ended up being misdiagnosed with polyneuropathy in the mid 90s. She got worse over the years, and eventually could not walk at all. In 2008-09 we found out she had a tumor growing all throughout her spinal cord. which was in fact the cause of why she was losing and eventually lost the ability to walk at all. She can't feel her legs and feet, or anything below the belly button. She ended up getting bed sores, so I change her wound dressings daily, and a nurse comes one day a week. She takes pictures of her progress. I have experienced with the wound vac, and right now we just use silver nitrate and barrier cream, and flip her on her sides for two hours. This is the second time she's had these sores so they won't ever heal fully. I used to get paid by seiu (doors) to be her caregiver but they cut her off for her assets. So I still take care of her and do everything the same 7 days a week any way. I am fully qualified, I run arrends, prepare meals, clean, so laundry, bathe her and just tend to her needs.
