I grew up with my mom taking care of our uncle in the house, he had been in a bad accident as a child that left him with brain injuries, I helped her with him and wanted to be a doctor, my friend referred me to her job as a caregiver and I fell in love with it.

In 1999 my mother was diagnosed with Alzheimer's and dementia it was a very rough road to cross. After seeing the things that my mother has went through and has accomplished and overcome it makes me want to continue to work in the nursing field. Someone once asked me why I chose the nursing field and all I can tell you is it is the simple things in life that can make a dramatic difference in someone's life. I love knowing that with my help and others and family members also I am able to help them stay at home. I love knowing that what I can do can change someone's life whether it be from something simple as tieing their shoe or just helping them brush their hair or complete simple daily tasks....

I recently just graduated as a psychology and sociology major. I love to learn who to people and interact with people. I spend most of my college learning about people's needs, what people require both psychically emotionally mentally and somewhat spiritually.
