I became a CNA two years ago with the heart for helping people who have a hard time helping themselves, witch is something I am very compassionate about, I have worked in a long term care facility for a little over a year in that time I picked up on many different skills, for example how to redirect a Alzheimer's patient, what things I need to watch out for on stroke patients, how to treat and prevent bed sores, what types of things to watch out for with residents with diabetes, those are just a few of the many things that I have learned..I think the most important thing about what I do is learning about my patients, their likes and don't likes, their routines;witch is very important with patients with Alzheimer's, communication with the family and above all respect and trust..I love what I do and I am very compassionate about my job..
