Hello, my name is Xochi, a flower in the Aztec language. However, my middle name is Amy, which is easier to remember. I have been told often that I have a big heart and compassion for others. I have been previously in the social work field for the last twenty-five years. But what came next has impacted my life and led me to the decision I am much happier in the caregiver field. I was raised by my single mother and grandmother, who passed away a year from one another in 2019 and 2020. I had the privilege to care for and be there for them both, which I see as a personal achievement. Then the light bulb went on, and I never returned to my previous job. Today, I help the seniors and disabled in my neighborhood and care for my two senior citizens, four four-legged family members, Boy a Jack Russell Bread, 16 years old, and Darla Carolina, 17.

I'm compassionate, caring, dependable and reliable. Not having a grandparent and being able to experience working with elderly people make me feel close to having one. Spending time with my client being able to talk to them listen to their stories and comfort them when they are feeling sad or lonely. Working with a client that has dementia or Alzheimer's and feels threatened by my presence. After introducing myself and talking to them and showing them that I'm no threat or mean any harm ti them they begin to trust me and we get along just well. That makes me feel accomplished and happy.

I have lot of patience and I am outgoing. When I notice something is bothering the patient I right away try to figure out what is bothering them. What attracts me to be a caregiver is that I want to help out those that need help now, since they help raise their own children or they did all they could to help others out and now it our turn to help them out. What I enjoy the most is that I get to learn new things from them. Also, I enjoy when am appreciated by the family and when they let me know that there loves ones look good and that are being good taken care of. Personal achievement that I am proud of is that I been doing CNA work for 3 years now.

I am a loving person with lots of room for growing and learning I have about 3/12 years experience What attracted me to being a caregiver is my dad was once in hospice and helping him and being there for him was something I did everyday and when he passed I was still in high school and by the time is was looking for a job it was something I wanted to continue doing and caring for others what I love the most is getting to know them and care for there needs and communicating talking about there pass some stories they might have.

I enjoy being a caregiver because I enjoy making a difference in someone else life. I been a Certified Nurse Assistant since 2002 and I believe I have gained the skills necessary to help perform my job. I am hardworking and a compassionate person.

As the eldest sibling, nurturing comes naturally to me. I have been in health care since college but it wasnt until a family member was in need of a care provider that I discovered my purpose in the medical field.
