The emotional and physical drain it is on the individual and the family when going through illness and/or aging is one I'm very familiar with. I have provided support and care to both parents who had cancer and were in Hospice care at home. In addition, I've assisted friends who've had a family member declining. I have no education or professional experience as a bedside caregiver nor do I feel comfortable or confident in providing medical or physical care. I am however, passionate and fully capable of providing excellent support in the following: emotional support | companionship | light housework | cooking | errands | appointments etc. Although the hands on physical bedside care is necessary and of extreme importance, I feel emotional love and support is also a crucial component, as humans we all need to have love and companionship.
