I've been in health care since i was sixteen when I found out my grandmother (MOM) had Alzheimer's I enjoyed caring for her till her passing in 2015. During that time i started working for a home care agency witch i love. I love caring for people and do my best to keep them in there homes...

A personality trait that has helped me become a great caregiver is patience. As a young teen I got to see caregiving first hand. My mother (a nurse ) , care for my great aunt and great grandmother. Watching her care for them and the manny ways they embraced her is the very reason I love what I do ! Personally the thing that I enjoy most about caregiving is the companionship and wonderful stories. Meeting new people and seeing life from their point of view . I love the fact that I'm helping someone continue to live life independently no matter the circumstances. One personal achievement I am proud of is that I recently decided to go back to school online to further my education. I'd say it's going pretty great

I first became interested in being a caregiver when I was a kid. My grandmother was diagnosed with Alzheimer's four or five years ago and I was involved in taking care of her and took care of her at the hospice house. I am currently looking for jobs so that I have something lined up. I am currently very flexible and will consider all shifts expect for some weekends as I still have my other job. I love being a CNA and taking care of people!

It is my belief that all ppl regardless of their need are intitled to the best care possible for a full recovery or in many cases a private transition into their life's end journey...dignity and respect. Being a caregiver is one of life's rewards, those needing care are greatful and I would hope that if I need care someday I would have someone like myself. As far as achievements thus far is helping extended families learn and understand what their loved one may not be able to express to them.
