Hello! My name is Desiree and I have been caregiving professionally since 2008 beginning with my cousin with developmental disabilities. My first job after high school was housekeeping in nursing home and hospital and I always found myself trying to interact with the clients, whether it just be conversations or pushing them back to their rooms after meals. I have mostly worked in CILA homes taking care of the developmentally disabled and I absolutely enjoyed every moment and every prrsonality I ever met! Never a full moment, I began as a DSP and was a house manager for the same company. I have also worked some side jobs taking care of the elderly, a couple until they passed, and another until she just didn't need the extra help Amy more. I have wanted be a caregiver for as long as I can remember, I had a grandpa that had lost both legs, one due to a stroke and the other because of Gangrene. My grandmother need a lot of help with him from changing diapers to helping with feeding once he got a feeding tube, and I was always their! I don't feel like myself unless I'm helping someone else live their best life!

I am specialize in All Heimers dementia Parkinson's I also deal with paraplegic patients adults I have also taken care of non-adults. My mom was ill for 12 months and I stayed with her every day in the hospital transferring from hospital to hospital and I wanted to do better for our elderly people because I seen the way they treated her and I didn't want someone else's mother or grandmother treated the same way. Giving our patients the companionship and not making them feel lonely. I am proud that I got my GED and it took me a long time but I went back to college and did a year of college to which I'm gonna go back and finish up my masters in cardiac echo grams.

Hello great expertise of being caregiver have to be many... personal such as family I have taking care of my grandparents throughout daily task. I have to say growing up I took an heart to having empathy toward life and people throughout different stages of life and very much so understanding. I am a caregiver because I love people. There are not enough people to give care and attention to folks who need another set of strong yet gentle hands. There was one resident in particular that was hard for CNA staff to get along with. She wasn't very friendly at first but I squatted down in front of her, and explained this was the job I chose to do because I love helping people. She could see I was sincere, and warmed up to me knowing she wasn't a burden to me, and I liked helping her. I am in my second semester of school for Respiratory Therapy. I am love being in my yard gardening. My first grandchild will be 1 year old this July 21st. I'm a pretty good cook and a tidy house keeper.
