I have 8 years of Geriatric Care in Nursing homes, Assisted living facilities and in home care. I enjoy helping others and will continue my education to become a nurse practitioner and be able to provide health care to various ages of life through my career.

I was a licensed CNA from 2004 to 2019. I became certified when I was just 17 years old and I have loved helping people my whole life. I have worked in skilled nursing facilities as well as in-home settings. Since 2008, I have cared for many local clients in their homes and helped them with everything from daily hygiene, shopping, appointments, cooking, cleaning, etc. I have experience with the young and the elderly. Hello! My name is Valencia and I am 23 years young. I am a social work major and absolutely love working with people. My goal is to complete my masters and become a hospice social worker. When I was 15 my grandpa died from ALS and I decided I wanted to be a care giver. At 18 years old I got my first job in health care at a group home with individuals who were developmentally delayed. I worked a bit in an assisted living and realized that I had a passion for geriatrics. I have experience with cerebral palsy, diabetes, autism, hospice care, non verbal and dead clients. I have excellent companionship skills. I find myself to be hard working and I have excellent people skills. I find 1 on 1 time to be very important. Everybody has a story to tell and everybody deserves to be heard. Whether you need help with meal prep, showering, med reminders, or even something as little as listening to a story or painting nails, I'll be there.

I have been a CNA since I was 16! My mother is a nurse and I followed in her steps. I am a mother of a 10 year old boy that happens to be my biggest accomplishment in life. I love to meet new people and new experiences. I have my BLSC.(CPR) I also have my food Handling Certificate and food alergin certificate.

I have taken care of many family members throughout my lifetime with situations including hospice and post-orthopedic surgery. I realized that the compassion and empathy I was able to give others was a gift, what better way to use it than to take care of those who cannot take care of themselves. I have won awards for customer service and for being an exceptional preceptor at the current healthcare facility I work at. At the end of the day, no matter how difficult it was I am happy because I was able to help someone.
