Hello, My name is Amy and I am a caregiver in your area here in Northern Kentucky. I have been helping families with the care of their loved ones since the 80's when I first helped my grandparents friend's family. They knew that I would take great of him and treat him with respect and dignity. I come from a background of working in customer service and management positions but I also have numerous years of working for other caregiving agencies and as a private caregiver. I feel that I have passed every background check there is so I hope you can feel comfortable with me? I love working with my clients and meeting their family and getting to know everyone. St. Elizabeth Hospice for 8 years providing Palliative, Respite and End of life care in the patients home and Inpatient settings. Followed by a committed record of reliability and strong ability to establish rapport with patients, family and staff. I love working with elderly people, they make my days go by fast and I have fun with it. I love helping my clients with things they can't do. I also go out of my way, to make sure their experience is as great as mine was with them.

Approximately 15 years ago, I became my mother's Caregiver after she came home from Rehab for a major stroke. After working in a Family Medical office for a couple years, I began my Caregiver career. In the past 10+ years, I have worked as a Home Health Aide and CNA, providing many services to families and their loved ones, including (but not limited to) Alzheimers, Dementia, Quadriplegic, and Hospice Care. Services provided include companionship, transportation, meal prep, feeding, light housekeeping, pericare, input/output, taking and recording vitals, catheter care, colostomy care, medication reminders, assistance with bathing, showers, dressing, transfers, wound care maintenance, and oxygen maintenance. My special focus has been with Alzheimer's and Dementia care. I am a CNA and certified in CPR and First Aid, and continue to work on completing additional medical courses and pursue avenues to help strengthen me as a Professional Caregiver. I also maintain current Individual Professional Liability Insurance. Your loved ones peace of mind, comfort and health is my priority.

I am patient, can listen and adapt to different personalities. I enjoy understanding how a patient feels and putting myself in their place. I wanted to be a caretaker to help as many people as I can. I love meeting new people and helping out wherever I can. I enjoy being a companion to a patient and helping out any way I can. A personal achievement I am proud of is when my patient was angry at me for 2 months because she has Alzheimer's and thought I had locked her out, I apologized many times everyday until she realized she had been angry for no reason and apologized. I was very happy for not becoming angry even when she was yelling and apologizing many times although I hadn't done anything wrong. My ability to understand where she was mentally helped me to grow and care even more about her.

As a caregiver, it is one of my core beliefs to serve those who need my help the most as a servant of God. I believe I was put on this Earth to help people and all living creatures, and while ultimately, I'm training to be a veterinarian, I know that when I work as a caregiver, I'm doing what I know in my heart to be the best thing I can do for the people in my community and my world.

I Feel like I am a great care giver because I go above and beyond to make patients/residents feel special.
