I am 20 years old. I have been an STNA since i have been a junior (2016). I have worked in the health care field for 3/4 years now. I have done home health care, nursing homes , & assisted living. I absolutely love my job. I have worked in the nursing home with respiratory, dementia, all different kinds.

My name is samantha i go by sam i am 31 years young and i have experience in home care and in an assisted living home including dementia certification, trach and vent training, ability to use a hoyer lift, bathing, cooking, cleaning, sponge bath, turning, ive even put a catheter in before, med dispense, also amongst other things. I used to care for mother untill she passed away she had ALS i watched her through every stage and by the end of it she was vent dependent. Growing up watching my mom do it and then having to take care of my own grandmother while she was battling lung cancer. I have plenty of experience from general prompting to fulfill daily tasks to hands on patient care and I've worked on a lock down unit for dementia and Alzheimer's patients as well as bed ridden tracheotomy patient care. I am a wife and mother of soon to be 5 children which brings me to why I haven't continued my medical education for my doctorates degree as initially planned out of high school. I've always had a passion for helping people and I have intentions of continuing my education down the road but for now I currently administrate in home child care during the week and I'm seeking some evening hours of home health care and possibly a weekend shift !
