Actually, I am a Registered Nurse. Characteristics: dependable, honest, independent, optimistic, hard-working, encouraging, a problem solver, a good listener and communicator. I became interested in health care when I was 10 years old and in the hospital over Christmas having had an emergency appendectomy. My mom worked for a doctor (earning $1 an hour) and was always telling us about interesting cases and teaching us strange sounding medical terminology. Most of my nursing career was in a Medical Intensive Care Unit at Ohio State University Medical Center. After that exciting career, I started working in Home Health in 2008. I enjoy working 1 on 1 with my clients, offering encouragement, seeing that they are receiving proper care, and hearing their life stories.

I am going on my third year of college, and my third college as well. I am finishing up my surgical nursing degree at Marion Technical College with a Surgical Technician certification and a phlebotomy certification as well. I have spent time in caring for my grandmother while she was in and out of the hospital, and I will provide compassionate care to those who need. My job as a future nurse is to provide comfort and love to patients varying different health conditions. My ideal job profession in the future is to work in hospice as well. When I was younger, I had a heart disease and my life-long goal is to give back to nurses and patients with 110% passionate and sympathetic care.

Everyone has a calling in life... Mine is the the compassionate care of others. I love to help others when they are having trouble helping themselves. I believe that people need to be treated with compassion and respect regardless of their condition. My experience has proven to me that I have patience and empathy to provide the care and love required to be a great care giver. I am punctual and dependable so there is never any worry if I am going to show up or not. I consider myself a good cook and maintain a clean home. I am capable of running most home health care equipment. I am also very capable of dealing with doctors, nurses, pharmacists, and hospice. I manage a facility that is rated a 5 star home for 4 years in a row by the state. About me personally; I have been married to my husband for 30 years and we have a 16 year old daughter. We have lived in the same house for 22 years so you might consider me a very stable person. I enjoy working outside in my flower beds, church activities, and my daughters sporting events.

I honestly Love this line of work, compassion and dedication is my expertise, I have worked for a couple of company's and also have went independent with clients , This has been my passion for ten plus years and look to further my career and education working to become a CNA .

For me, being a caregiver isn't just a career. It's my calling in life. I feel as though it's what I was put here to do. My very first job at age 18 was as a caregiver for a lady with MS. I cared for her as a live in for nearly three years with one day off weekly. I then moved to direct care for disabled individuals and have accumulated several years experience. I am certified in first aid/ CPR, medication administration, insulin trained, and have a wide path of experience to fall back on. I was also caregiver for my mother for five years until she passed from ALZ. I am currently attending college studying Human and Social Services to better provide for those I work with and for. I believe that being a caregiver requires a special individual, just as special as those I care for. I have always felt that the individuals I have met and worked with have each been a blessing in their own way and I am the lucky one for having them in my heart and life. I view my clients as family, nothing less. I am dedicated, sincere, patient, full of good humor, not easily upset, and my greatest joy is making others happy. That's the biggest benefit of all. I became a caregiver after seeing friends do it. I knew I had what it took to care for patients/residents in any way they needed it. I have all the qualities of a great caregiver. I have experience with different kinds of disabilities and conditions. I love doing these things and insuring all of my patients are cared for to the fullest. I am now certified to give meds after completing classes!

I feel I am a great caregiver because I have all my life cared for ones; beginning with being the middle of seven children I was responsible for caring for those under me and then into marriage; I cared for 4 children. After my divorce I continued caring for my four children at the same time living with my elderly grandmother of 93, who had Aleizmiers and her sister, 88 who had breast cancer. Working closely with different agencies including Hospice, I was able to give them the quality care they deserved for as long as I was able to do so. I also have a friend who has MS and she lived right across the hallway from me and I have over the last four years enjoyed helping and caring for her. I have a heart for the hurting and disable. I understand the challenges involved in caring for them and would like to pursue a career in this field. What I like about being a caregiver is being able to make them smile, to remove for a season of time the reality of their present state and help them see a lighter side to life. I combine care with comedy and wit and make what is work - now relationship. When I came to take care of my grandmother she was pretty unrespondent to everyone. After about a month there, she would talk more and she began singing. She still didn't know who I was, but her who demeanor had changed and she was more pleasant and cooperative.
