Between my work experiences and personal needs of family and friends, I've spent most of my life as a caregiver. I raised two special needs children of my own while attending to my aging parents, including my mother with dementia. Shortly after the passings of my parents, I was the caregiver for my husband who eventually succumbed to COPD. On a volunteer basis, I've provided end-of-life care and post operative assistance. I'm very comfortable working with all ages. Other than heavy physical lifting, I'm capable and enthusiastic about providing care and support to a wide range of potential clients. I changed him, bathed him, helped him try to walk until he went to bed rest, fed him and gave him company. He passed away april 6 this year and I would love to continue caregiving. I can do all of these things by helping your loved one in dressing up, toileting and conducting household tasks such as buying groceries and chores. Ensuring your loved one is exercising, eating balanced meals, and taking medication in a timely manner. Providing a listening ear to your loved one, and showing care and support.

By showing both empathy and compassion as a caregiver will let the person I'm caring for allow trust also shows I care about the person and will do what I can to help them. Attracting me to being a caregiver was know the help I could bring. Also knowing one day I will need the same help. I enjoying almost every aspect of a caregiver. More so putting smiles on those faces who feel they have been forgotten. That's my achievement in this field making those happy, and feeling valued.
