I became a State Tested Nurses Assistant in 2015 back when i still lived in Ohio full-time. Since then I have worked in two nursing homes and worked for a home health agency, where I aided the residents/clients in their activities of daily living. What I love most about being an Aide is getting to know my clients/residents and hearing about their life story. I love being able to provide care to people who can not be fully independent so that they are able to stay in their family's residents longer. Recently, the state of Virginia recognized my Ohio state certification as a nurse aide.

Empathy and compassion. ... By showing both empathy and compassion as a caregiver will let the person I'm caring for allow trust also shows I care about the person and will do what I can to help them. Attracting me to being a caregiver was know the help I could bring. Also knowing one day I will need the same help. I enjoying almost every aspect of a caregiver. More so putting smiles on those faces who feel they have been forgotten. That's my achievement in this field making those happy, and feeling valued.
