Hey there, My name is Melody DeGrave and I live in Green Bay. I am currently a Certified Medical Assistant/LPN. I previously worked as a CNA for 7 years in Nursing homes, assisted living facilities, Rehab facilities and Disabled homes. I have been a nurse for 5 years at Aurora Healthcare working as a float nurse in OB/GYN, behavioral health, pediatrics, family practice and internal medicine. I recently started a new position with St Elizabeth hospital in the heart and lung unit. I previously took care of a paraplegic man in his home for 3 years with a hoyer lift. I would go to his home every morning before work and give him a shower/ get him ready for the day and give him any meds or apply any topicals he may have needed. I loved doing this, I am capable and I am more than willing to help where help is needed. I currently work Monday-Thursday 830:430. I would be willing to help any times outside of those hours. Hello! I started caregiving a year and a half ago after leaving school. Initially it was meant to be an in between job while I figured out what I wanted to do, but very quickly became my passion. I never felt like I was really talented with much before, but caregiving and medication passing feels like a calling to me, something I didn't expect to be good at but just pulled me in. I find caregiving extremely rewarding and thats why I have done it for over 20 years now. The bond you create with the individual/individuals you are assisting is one that can never be replaced. You spend so much time together you literally become family. I became a CNA at the age of 16 and thats where my heart truly belongs.
