When my mother was ill, I was the one she would call to make her scrambled eggs. I took her to the swimming pool and hot tub to get exercise and relaxation. I cut her hair, took her to doctor's appointments and then lunch, and generally gave her some companionship. As I dusted her knickknacks, she told me where each was from. Mom died in 2002. When dad was ailing, some of my family tried to move him into assisted living, but he wanted to stay in his own home. I gave up my apartment and moved in with him, while working in publishing during the day. We had a great time together for a year and a half. Just after he died, I lost my job because I had spent too much time with dad. That evening, the daughter of a neighbor I'd assisted over the years called me, asking if I could help her mother. That began years of caregiving in which I have helped people stay in their homes, and enjoy life. I've brought my keyboard and played hymns and popular songs, singing with them and laughing. As a caregiver, I am simply happy to help my people stay in their own familiar setting. I believe the way I interact with them makes them happy. And my cooking makes them extremely happy! I built my cooking experience on my mom's, then learned to cook for fewer than 8 people! I edited three "Taste of the Country" cookbooks, working with a professional dietician who taught me many ways to fit dietary needs while providing tasty food.

I have almost 6 years working with patients with dementia who I feel I offer a great outlook to life on their later days. I enjoy this sort of work because it's fulfilling and makes feel like I've accomplished something being there for others on their time of needs. I'm most proud when my patients not only remember my name but also has great things to mention about me to others

I have a been a personal caregiver for over 18years I started out working as a Cna in nursing home and I thoroughly enjoy and love the helping others out. It is very fulfilling to me knowing I can help out in any way I can by just simply being there when they need someone. In addition to providing companionship, I can help monitor medications, prepare delicious meals, keep home and laundry clean, transport to Doctors appointments, etc. Your loved one will be in good hands when they are with me.

I have done the home health side as a part time job for about 5 years now working with clients that need all different levels of assistants to help make the client life have the most quality we can. I feel that I am just an extension to them and to assist them.with what they are unable to do.for themselves . I assist with Adls. Meal preps ., light house work , companion care. I am looking for a full time long term live-in position. I am drug free, only drink socially and do NOT do drugs. I will relocate myself upon hire. Here's my short list: I am a 62 year old semi-retired Respiratory Therapist. I have my own vehicles. I am very organized and have lots of experience caring for people. Excellent cook, housekeeper and home organizer. I currently cook, clean and do laundry for my client in addition to his personal care and companionship. My current position is live-in with room and board and $525 per week salary. I work for myself on a cash basis. I lately worked as a live-in caregiver for an 88 year old who recently went into hospice care and has passed away, I currently work as a live-in Resident Assistant at an Adult Family Group Home for developmentally disabled. Prior to that, I was a personal assistant/housekeeper/cook for Racine's Case High School Principal (Wisconsin), until he moved to CA for health issues. Prior to that I was live-in Housekeeper/cook for a professional gay couple in Trevor, WI. I have tons of experience with children, and have a 35 year medical background. Also interested in positions in Ashland County, OH 44805 area and will re-locate for the right position. Please be aware of State Laws regarding live-in domestic care givers hours for work. There are time off requirements. 24 hours a day 7 days per week is not an expectation you should have. It's demanding work and all caregivers need time to recharge. I came to care for my mother's needs after her triple bypass. And have always been a caregiver in some sort of way. My clients have ranged with various needs brain trauma, Cancer and Dementia. I am a nurturer by design. I like helping people to be as independent as possible.I am a warm and engaging person. When I can make my clients smile and feel good about their day,then I know the world is brighter. I am a mom to a high functioning autistic son and a have beautiful daughter.I am also married over 20 years which is huge!

I am a very compassionate LPN. I have years of experience caring for the elderly in FL as well as in WI. I believe that I am using the gifts that God has given me to help others and to bring joy into peoples lives by being kind. My greatest achievement has been helping my mother care for my father who was in hospice in MA.

I consider myself to be very compassionate, caring and supportive as a person. I have good communication skills and I always carry a positive attitude. Caregiving is a huge personal accomplishment for. The ability to be very resourceful help people gives me joy. It has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. My major accomplishment in caregiving is being able to make a difference in the life of people and cherishing those precious moments.

I would say I am great care giver because I always put the well being of my client first, I am very old fashion, respectful, funny and alway exceptionally professional. I am always open to learn and a very fast learner at that. For me being a care giver helps to give back to the elderly and help to make their lives easier.
