Learning about the amazing wonders of the human brain and body has been my life's endevor. If I don't know something I will research it and learn about it. I am most proud of the fact that I am extremely empathetic and compassionate.I tend to be quite tenderhearted and shed tears easily. I have 36 years plus of hospital and caregiver experience. Most of that time I was a licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner. I have work with geriatrics to neonates, from Post open heart intensive care unit to the Emergency Room and everything in between. I have extensive training respiratory diseases . I try to provide the kind of care I would expect for my children or mother or father. Loving compassionate care is something everyone deserves . I am a fierce advocate for people getting the care they deserve. I enjoy knowing that in some way I have made someone's life a little easier that day. I am very proud if the fact that when I worked at the Veterans Administration Hospital I made it possible for a gentleman who was on life support with ALS to go outside for the first time in 4 years. I also facilitated him in being able to speak to his wife through a computer . I am a little bit of a germaphobe so I like to keep everything around my clients -clean and tidy . I am an advocate for the underdog. I love animals. I love flowers. Everything about them, looking at them, growing them, smelling them and putting them in beautiful vases everywhere in a house. A single flower can bring a smile to everyone.
Hello my name is Victoria my residents call me Vicky. I'm 31 years old and a mother of one beautiful little girl. I live in salinas. My mother is my inspiration on why I became a caregiver. When I was younger I would go with her to work she used to work in a convalescent home. I seen the effect she had on her residence and how happy and relieved they were to have someone care for them. While in high school I did volunteer work in the city of Soledad at Eden Valley care center, I volunteer in there activity room. I once again enjoyed seeing the smiles on the residents faces. I then knew this is what I want to do. After graduating high school as a valedictorian. I took the class for a CNA certified nursing assistant and HHA Home health aide. Then I passed the state test. I had my CNA and HHA for two years. Unfortunately I did not keep up with the required classes hours. So it expired. I'm currently working in Pacific Grove at a residential facility called The Del Monte Assistant Residential Care. I have been working here for 7 years. I have worked for other agencies like visiting angels and Maxim healthcare. As well as Windsors Garden. I have also done private duty for a wonderful family and a lovely lady I took care of that had dementia and a stroke one year prior to when I care for her. In this work filed I have met a lot of different residents/clients and their family's. I know I'm doing my job right. Because when I'm done caring for them they request me again. I have saved a lot of lives as well. With me you know your loved ones are in good working hands. Its my job to make sure they are cared for right and you have a much easier life.
