Hi, I first became a caregiver because I wanted to know what it was like helping someone in need. After my first client I realized how much I love being a caregiver. I enjoy everything about my job. I feal very lucky and blessed to have found my calling. I love learning new things especially if they are medical related. I have done case management in a residential home which included scheduling appointments, ordering medications and/or medical equipment, Interview and training new caregivers and weekly meal planning. I have worked with patients with COPD, hoyer lift,MS,Dementia and Alzheimer's and skin cancer treatments. I have also experience in hospice care. Hello! I'm currently a CNA and EMT. The main reason I became a caregiver is because I want to make a difference in someone's life. I also just enjoy working with people and taking care of and assisting those who may have difficulty with certain activities. I have worked in both a facility and home setting, but I enjoy the home setting because I am able to be one on one with my patient to make deeper connections. I pay attention to detail and I'm very patient, I understand that sometimes there may be changes in plans and that things may not always go as planned, but I can adjust to any situation and make decisions that are best for my patient. It is in my nature to be a caregiver. I worked in a nursing home at age 16 . Over the course of my life I have taken care of several elderly or ill family members or patients in nursing homes . I have experience with home hospice care as I took care of my mother and father in law who both had cancer and were home during hospice. I managed ordering medical equipment , medications and facilitated making schedules and medicine regiments. To present day, I have worked for the school district (38 years) I have worked with severely disabled , Autism , Down's Syndrom, Ms , and more. Familiar with Dementia and elderly . My husband works as a truck driver delivering dry wall. I work in Special Education at a middle school. I love people , children and animals. I also run a small cleaning business for private homes .
