Greetings! I'm Sheila, I've been in the healthcare field going on 9yrs now. I've had many experiences from a home health to hospitals, to assisted living, long-term care, physical therapy and etc. I gain my passion of becoming a CNA through the love that I have to care for others. It's my drive and dedication that keeps me lifted daily. Never in a million years did I think my role of being a CNA would take place once upon a time in my life with my own family member. A year ago my sister was in a tragic accident which left her paralyzed and in the care of both me and my mom. Although I already had passion and love for what I do, that gave me even more strength and courage being as good as I was. August of 2022, she gained her wings and it's a moment I'll never forget. It gives me the mindset to strive and continue pushing myself daily for better. I want to make a difference someday inside the healthcare field and my goal is to do just that. I'm currently a online graduate student pursuing my Masters in Healthcare Management. Upon graduation I will continue my career as a CNA as well as gain a higher position inside the healthcare field. Being in this position, you understand what it feels like, what it takes and how strong you truly have to be caring for others and that is something I truly don't ever see myself pulling away from. Can't wait to meet you guys and I'm excited about this new job journey.

Hi, I am a mother, grandmother, and I love to care for my family. I started caregiving first for my grandparents. I fell in love with taking care of the ones who can't care for themselves or maybe just need a little help and a lot of companionship.

My compassion for others is one of the many things that would make me a great caregiver. My grandmother was sick for a long period of time in my life and me and my family helped assist her in many different ways which is why I'm attracted to become a caregiver. I enjoy helping others who cannot do certain things for themselves but I also would allow them to be independent in someways. I would let them know that I am here if they need me in any shape or form. A personal achievement that I'm personally proud of is earning my CNA licenses.

I became a Cna at 17 years old when my Great Grandmother decided she would not stay home with us, not wanting to burden family. I decided that one of us needed to go to her then and went to Job Corp got my Ged and Cna before my Highschool class graduated. I then took my first job at Parkview Nursing and Rehab in Waterloo, Iowa . I believe in giving my clients and their families the best of me as I see the big picture and know how hard caring at home can be. In 1998 my grandpa was diagnosed with Parkinson's We kept him home as long as we could and then I went to work at Country View where he was first placed due to memory problems. He ended up back home ! We cared for him until he suffered a fall ( very common in Parkinson's ) at that time Caring for the elderly in a loving, respectful and life enriching way no matter the illness/ ability is my goal! I want my clients to have the best day each day they spend with me and I have an amazing portfolio showcasing my light work and great family references! I am capable of all aspects of homecare! I have 20 plus years experience. I am loyal and dependable, I have a glowing, upbeat personality! Great references and letters of recommendations! I am a very trustworthy and organized person ! You will not regret letting me assist you in keeping your loved one at home! I am also a cosmetology grad, graduated at the top and love bringing my hair, skin and nailcare experience into the homes of my clients at no extra charge!! I am amazing with memory care patients! I am a professional caregiver with experience in several areas in the medical field from nursing homes to dialysis clinics. I took care of two ill family members that are no longer with us, I enjoy helping others it makes me feel good to know that I have made someone's day better I am a caring compassionate person that understands the different disabilities of others and the feeling of families having to have a stranger take care of their loved ones, that is why I go above and beyond to take care of my residents. My greatest skills in health care are making the resident/ patient feel comfortable caring for them. Trust, and caring, and sometimes you have to take period listen to each individual. What attracted me to becoming a caregiver was my grandmother. My family is very close and when my grandmother the glue to our family were Diagnosed with ALZHEIMER'S we all worked together. It when from one thing to another. After her transition I decided to work in health care. I enjoy caring for people. Whatever I can find my hands to do, I do it. With dignity love and respect. While working with ARc of Baldwin County, the Viola House was about to be close down by state because of poor keeping. With the help of good teamwork / people that needed to work and much pray the house became a home to eight mental challenge people within three months. I love what I do.
