\"My passion for caretaking came when my grand dad was left under my care and I took care of him until he passed away. Since then, I have been taking care of loved ones until they've sadly departed. All of my experience has been hands-on and I can assist in all aspects of home care from companionship to bathing/dressing, to meal preparation. I can also assist in managing doctor visits and ensuring that doctors stay coordinated. I am a certified CNA / LPN With the Maryland Board of Nursing and also certified in First Aid, CPR and AEDs for adults and children. My hobbies are reading and spending time with family, time permitting. I have always felt a calling and a passion for caregiving. I have over 15 years of experience providing compassionate care in Skilled and private homecare settings. I am a single mother and student at UMGC. Currently working towards a bachelor's degree in Gerontology and Aging Services and a minor in Psychology, and proudly graduating in December of 2024! I place myself in the condition of the weak elderly. I vision that someday I can be in that condition. This motivates me to have compassion on them and work hard to support them. I took care of my aged father who suffered from stroke for ten years before he died. His high social demand at this time motivated me to be elderly supporter. My father's condition which I assisted motivated me to become a care giver. I do it wholeheartedly and families of passed away clients sometimes adopt me into their family. Most often they call me even when the work is over.

I became a caregiver because I have a great passion to care for people. I love putting smiles on people's face in which is a healthy therapy for people I care and work for.

I think I would be a good caregiver because I studied for taking care of elders and I'm very compassionate. It attracts me because I'm able to take care of someone else who's in need of it. I get to help others and make them feel good and myself.

I love making a different in the lives of others.after taking care of my grand mother i developed the ability to care for people in need.When I came to the state in 1985 this was the job I acquired and I have being doing it ever since.I had worked in the nursing home setting,,hospital, and private homes. I have a positive impact on my client I smile a lot I'm open to communicate with my client, listened to there concern encouraged them making decisions if the can and to involve them in there care plan.i give ADL care, good hygiene,,cooked, do laundry, serve there meal but if client needs assistance with feeding I will do it. I do client shopping, take client out for recreation, make drs' appointment and take them to there appointment, medications remainder,or administered medications, reports any concerns to family member who is POA.It rewarding when you see your client condition is improving.Care giver job is rewording when you bond with your client and the built trust in you.
