Hello, I consider myself a warm, compassionate person with a gift of patience. I empathize with many because I know what it feels like to need someone one to lend a hand and how difficult it may be to ask for that help when needed. At age 15, I cared for my dying mother and father, and decided to dedicate my life to be of service to others who could no longer care for themselves. I can honestly say that care giving brings out the best in me. When I see a need, whether it be physical, mental or spiritual one, I am challenged to work with the families to help fulfill that need. Everyone deserves that kind of experience in life and I believe everyone needs somebody. Throughout my life, I have held many positions that placed another's well-being in my hands. And I love it! I am a mother of three children, I have taught Sunday schools, classes for children with special needs, and have even taken others into my home for long periods of time. Additionally, I have been taking care of my elderly sister for the past 10 years. Particularly, it has been the time spent with my children and my sister that has helped me realize that being a caretaker is my calling. For me, true joy is making someone smile, hearing them laugh, and seeing the gratitude in their eyes when they look at me. It's the greatest reward that I can receive, and it's the reason why I care not just with my head but with my heart. I chose this career because I like to help other people, and one way to do it is to work in the medical field. A fact that motivated me to do so is that when I was five years old, my grandmother was sick and I was able to observe how other people did not take care of her properly.
